the US had some help from GULP, France, but France bit our hand and refused to return the favor on Iraq...oh i'm sorry that's right, the balance was settled in WW2...

i don't think there is a single precedent for "freeing" Iraq..... unless you count Panama...they got freed from Noriega.... but they were already free weren't they? sheesh i dunno...

Should Americans stand idle and watch people of other nations suffer under totalitarianism or dictatorship?
Not to worry, Saddam is contained in the box, he can only hurt his own people now.

We do it now, and its wrong. We have done it in the past, and it's wrong. It is a big deal, I don't know why you are trying to downplay it.

It is the money... That controlls... Never will understand why after the last 30 years since the oil embargo, we, the U.S. has not freed ourselves of the oil imports and stopped sending money to the middle east.
Sadam was a neccesary evil. He kept all the middle east off balance. If he was still in power, Iran would not be building it's nuclear program... And our troops would not have to go there next...................
4ART makes some good points. Lots of truth to it. I am republican but agree with glassman, I don't think either party has any answers.......

i spent 5 years living at the Universtiy of Californis Riverside. They had a FLEET of electric cars and pickups..... they zipped around campus and in Riverside nicely, the maintenece guys had FORD Rangers with electric motors... they are so quiet, they are actually dangerous to pedestrians.... could you imagine getting rid of 80% of the traffic noise?....yes, they have their own unique problems mecahical issues, and safety (batteries can be really messy in accidents) etc...
BUT? they work....
California passed a law requiring 5% of all cars sold be "alternative"...
i don't know what happened to the law, i moved to the midwest shortly after 911, but i do know that the electricity nightmare California went thru happened after that law was passed, and BEFORE it went into effect....
anybody know if the law was repealed, suspended, or delayed????
