She was Bush's loyal puppy from day one and wanted the job from day one. But the first term Bush felt that Powell was worth it. Besides she knows too many secrets to pizz off.

Your kidding right? Come own. All politicians have secrets that they don't want the public to know and Rice is Bush's closest advisor. You don't make it in politics if you don't burn some bridges. Wasn't talking about a specific secret just that if anyone has dirt on Bush it would be Ms Rice.

but powell wouldn't have dirt and he was let go?.....

...as you know i don't buy into a lot of this political name calling, its to easy. Powell is gone now, if he calls bush a jerk and wrong on the iraq war, he (if you hate bush and the war) become a figure of reverance and standing up for principle. (to bush backers) he's bitter and lashing out after losing his job.

- which happens more in your workplace.

If Powell states that working for bush was the best thing ever etc.. the left will say its political but kissing and not to be trusted. the right will say he's speaking his mind why would he lie, he was fired.

on Rice,
left, bush need a better puppy one more in line with his views, Powell was a dissenter...

IMO..A Secretary of State MUST portray THE PRESIDENTS views to foreign leaders. They MUST feel that the person is speaking for the president and his/her word can be trusted. (otherwise deals wont be made with some of these countries)

I feel that rice can do that and i feel powell did that.

Whats more interesting is how she will do brokering a peace deal with palestine/israel.
being a woman she obviously has some immediate pitfalls to the middle east mindset on womens role. on the other hand, they are not used to negotiating with a woman and that may work to her advantage. time will tell and no one else has done anything for 30 years so she can't be blamed.

I also think it is fantastic that she is the first black woman to becmome secretary of state. That in itself is huge.

Those who hate Bush resort to demeaning him and his decisions, by saying he was forced to pick Rice because she knows his secrets (implying she would blackmail him) or because she is his "puppy" (implying she is a puppet who will do as she is told and won't do anything without permission).

They have no evidence at all to support their assertions. Pure fantasy thought.

This level of argument is 6th grade - typical of liberals.
