Here it is...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – January 3rd 2005 – Q Television Network, (Pink
Sheets: QBID) announced today that it will commence a million dollar
advertising program on the 6th of January. The campaign will focus on
national publications such as The USA Today, as well as many gay and
lesbian publications across the U. S.

This campaign is geared towards generating new customers, as well as
creating a greater awareness of Q Television Network. The network is
also concentrating on becoming well known in its industry by becoming a
sponsor at the Q Lounge at the Sundance Film Festival.

“Thanks to the hard work of our production crews, Q is inches away from
its goal of having 25% original programming, and, we will begin a
million dollar advertising campaign in an effort to maximize our exposure to
the public,” said Frank Olsen, President and CEO of Q Television
Network. “I am very excited about the progress we are making at the network,
and believe this year will hold much promise for us.”

About Q Television Network
This television network was organized to create and develop a network
devoted to providing television programming for the gay and lesbian
community. While the company expects much of its subscriber base to be
comprised of members of the gay and lesbian population, management also
believes that quality programming about the gay and lesbian experience,
designed to entertain, educate and inform, will attract many other
segments of the viewing public. The company's programming will be available
on a subscription basis to those desiring its programming. The network
will broadcast 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Providing distribution
via satellite ensures availability of the network across the United
States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. For further information
on programming and subscriptions, please visit www.qtelevision.com.

Green already. Great to hear some numbers though. 1 million dollars just for advertising the network. Doesn't sound like money is that tight right now for QTN. I like this news a lot. Even better about this news is the campaign starts thursday! Can't wait. Matt

According to "1BigTrip":

"Good close. Look at this chart.

RSI is still Bullish. Great sign. It should see 70 RSI pretty soon, which will mean a rise in price around .0065, as long as we dont drop below 50 RSI.

We need to pass .0058. And as I keep saying for weeks, as long as we don't drop below .0050 we're good. Looks like we tested it today but no go."

We dropped below .0050 today!

As much as I didn't like it dropping below .0050, where we closed is still considered ok.

We're still in the trading range. Now I see a positive close tomorrow but I'll confirm that tonight.

MM's are shaking the weak.

The faster the weak ones sell, the quicker we go up. lol

good news...i'm guessing of course as there is no way to know for sure but i don't think sub numbers were coming in to support scrambling the signal. if they had 5,000 or more in the 3 cities i'd believe the signal would get scrambled faster & chicago would be up & running. so either the g/l community isn't willing to pay a monthly fee for a dedicated channel or nobody knew it was there. i know 1 have at least 150 channels on digital comcast & in the premium area i only go to the channels i order. i don't flip thru looking for new channels, that is till i bought Q shares...lol. Q's not even listed in planetout's daily TV guide, the first place we need to be IMO.

Bill: I agree with you, that we need to advertise with PlanetOut. They also own the gay chat room www.gay,com. This chat is in every major city in the US and Canada. Planetout list all the gay television programs that are being broadcasted each day, the name the program and where to find it. From Will & Grace to Here TV.

Frank, will have to deal with PlanetOut sooner or later, remember he has the rights to the Gay Games and PlanetOut will need to access internet coverage and televison clips as it has promised to its membership.

Just before the RCN launch in SF I visited the gay.com chat room, and I was amazed to find out that no one in the chat rooms had ever heard of Q Television.I visited the chat room a number of times and finally got banned from posting in the gay chat, because you are not allowed to advertise without the permission of PlanetOut. But before being booted out I did get a few jabs in for Q Television.

The Gay.Com chat rooms are visited by approx 50-75 thousand men a day (according to their stats on membership). Frank, do you not think that this would be a good start. Frank, needs to buy banner space in the Chat rooms and be a constant remninder to the gay community that Q Television is available to them.

We should be advertising in multiple avenues in order to become better known, I agree with Bill we need to do a better job at getting the name out.

Stocks greet new year with red ink
Investors consolidate 2004 gains, shrug off retreat in oil

By Mark Cotton, CBS.MarketWatch.com
Last Update: 5:08 PM ET Jan. 3, 2005

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- U.S. stocks ended lower Monday, as a move to lock in some of the gains made over the last year trumped the positive impact of a retreat in oil prices, a firmer dollar and a raised sales outlook from Wal-Mart.

On the first day of trading in 2005, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($INDU: news, chart, profile) ended down 53.58 points at 10,729.43, after climbing as high as 10,867.39 in early trading.

Within the benchmark index, Wal-Mart rose 1 percent on its revised December sales view.

Among the Dow components moving lower, Merck (MRK: news, chart, profile) fell 2.7 percent on a media report that more users than initially thought may have died or had serious side effects from taking its Vioxx anti-arthritis drug. See full story.

Construction equipment maker Caterpillar (CAT: news, chart, profile) shed 2.5 percent after the Commerce Department reported an unexpected decline in construction outlays for November.

The Nasdaq Composite Index ($COMPQ: news, chart, profile) was down 23.29 points, at 2,152.15, well off an early high of 2,191.60. A decline in semiconductor stocks ($SOX: news, chart, profile) was weighing heavily on the tech-rich index.

The S&P 500 index ($SPX: news, chart, profile) was down 9.84 points, at 1,202.08.

On Friday, the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 closed out 2004 at levels not seen since 2001. The Dow posted a more modest 3.3 percent gain.

Well, it looks like that rumor I heard the other day from someone on another board was right, just 1 day off. This guy said USA Today will have the Q on it this week. I bought the USA Today this morning and there was no Q, but I wasn't dissapointed because it was a rumor, Q puts out pr when they are ready. So next week buy USA Today and it will feel good to see our Q in it.

Viacom puts gay cable channel on hold
Peter Marchese, Gay.com / PlanetOut.com Network
published Monday, January 3, 2005
The Showtime and MTV networks' proposed all-gay, 24-hour cable television channel missed its spring launch date, and now the vaunted project's future is in jeopardy.
Last November, an internal memo from Showtime and MTV was leaked on the Internet, touting the impending development of the channel, called "Outlet." Viacom, the parent company of both cable networks, confirmed Outlet as a reality with a probable second-quarter 2003 launch.

However, eight months later, Outlet has been placed on hold indefinitely, allegedly due to the poor state of the economy.

After being questioned by the Gay.com/Planetout.com Network, Showtime said in a statement that "due to the current economic climate, the timetable has slowed down for the development of a new network dedicated to programming to the gay and lesbian audience. We will keep the media informed of new developments."

Both the economic climate in the United States and the impact of the war in Iraq have been used as reasons by many media companies for scaling back spending on new ventures.
