what little I have heard and read of it sounds like fascism and racism. Its nothing but a stinking manifesto to ruin whats left of the country and loot the general population. Its even stupider than Huckabee's talk comparing our health insurance to home owners insurance. The republican manifesto on how to ruin a nation a new manual for a new contract on America.

the pledge is all old stuff cash, why repeat the stuff that got us here? Even if you agree Obama should have done differnt? YOU can't blame him for the recession. He DID NOT do it.

last night Jon Stewart did a very good "bit" (that's what comedians call their peices) on the Pledge.
here it is:

go to 7:30, he's going to show you side by side old clips and new clips where they repeat the exact same "pledge" [Wink] ...

This was almost the exact same pledge given in 1994 then called the contract with America. Didn't work out to good for them then

young Boehner- Old Boehner saying the same thing really is kindof funny in a sad sort of way...

the Dems deserved to lose the Congress in 94.

It SEEMED to be better for the country to have a split Govt.

BUT,
this situation is beginning to take on a Saturday Night Live look to me, and i mean the old SNL when John Belushi was trippin' out every show...

 -

wait till the GOP puts Haley Barbour up agin Obama...

this country will will be like the wicked witch after Dorthy threw water on 'er...

I know that glass, are you telling me that a lot of things he said to get elected...were not puffery? Sure you say candidates make campaign promises all the time that dont ever amount to anything, but he promised change from that. He said HE was the different one, the real deal free of special interests. What he really meant was free from Bush special interests. He has his own, big time.

after you've watched a half dozen presidantial elections? you realise 90% of it is BS from all of 'em.

and guess what? nobody would vote for an honest person.

I think he has a fundamental honesty rarely found at that level.

But he's dumb as only "too-smart" people can be...

I think he actually believed that Jimmy Stewart scene.

As if a little passion and some reasonability would carry the day...that is, too green in his political career to realize the depths of Mordor.

The super-rich ain't gonna just roll over and start playing fair.

Look no further than our own Revolution.

The crown could've cut a slick deal and kept milking that goat for decades. But no, they had to get all royal about it.

Today, though, the powers-that-be have control that the crown could have only lusted toward.

too true Tex...

i wonder how many US citizens know that the reason the Brits wanted to raise our taxes (you know, on Tea?) was cuz the Brits were having budget problems due to the Seven Years war or as it was known int he Americas the French and Indian War?

That's where George W got his battle training as British Colonial soldier. The 7 year war doubled Britains debt and they beleive we colonists owed our "fair share"...

the colonists said they wouldn't pay without representation....

it would be a good debate whether Britain could have bought off the Colonies with a seat or two at parliamnet to diffuse the no taxation without representation issue...

there were slightly more than 2 million Colonists in 1770... Britains population was only 6.5 million a the time.

theoretically we should have had quite a few seats at the table. I don't get the sense that was what the colonists really wanted tho...

oh, i should add that ht eSeven Years War was a real world war, it was fought all over the place, not just here, but it did mostly start here
