Yeah. I'm in EQBM. The wierdest thing is, the more I read about what's going on, the more it looks like EQBM doesn't belong on the list and was sucker punched.

It wasn't spammed, it wasn't P&D'd, the CEO hasn't made questionable claims in PRs.

In at least this one case (and probably more, possibly most or even all if some theories are true), it really looks like the SEC overstepped.

cassity: yes, they are all headed for the greysheets.

grow as long as profits and good business practices. This is the first step imo of big brother and i for one like it! To many ppl. get hurt in R/s and pump and dumps, Its time to lock down on these! I will not hold anymore its a quick flip only, i do not want to get cought in whatever happens next!!

Amen, matto. 3/4 of the pinks are nothing more than scams. The SEC is right to shut them down. GO SEC !!! Save us all some money. Every penny stock that declares a R/S in excess of 1 for 10 should be IMMEDIATELY shut down. Too many of them put out fantastic futures, and end up being a bomb. HOORAY!!!!

Well, I've had 2 stocks of mine suspended by the SEC and I'm sorry to see that so many are going to lose money. I personally think they should not allow these scams to trade in the first place, but WTH do I know.

I totally agree Cassity - I don't so much mind the fact that they are going to try and get rid of the crap that is trading, but shutting down the stock and then dumping it to the grey sheets is pitiful and every stockholder save the executives are people the SEC are supposedly protecting.

Seems we have 2 threads on this. While I fully support getting rid of the scams I don't agree with the way they are going about it. The shareholders are getting screwed imo. Yes some may have been foolish in their DD or thought they could take a chance for a quick buck. They need a better way of handling these stocks that minimizes the damage to investors but still slams the company. I was thinking a press release by the SEC giving a warning from their web site but then the company at fault would dump like crazy leaving the shareholders in the dust ~ so... maybe it is better to turn them grey. we loose 30 - 50% sometimes as much as 80% or more but still may get something back. Maybe being pink in the first place is all the warning you need. Certainly getting an education with the grey market dat's for sure.
We'll see if any can settle their issues and minimize their time on the greys, i've only heard rumors of a stock only being grey for minutes instead of months or years. They were probably talking of big board stocks also - not pinks. This all just brings up more and more questions.

--------------------
All post are my opinion. Do your own DD. Who's clicking your buy/sell button!?

Too much credit is being given to the SEC on this thread.

I've taken an interest in the suspension because one of my stocks is on the list. But I know that my stock was not spammed (BTW: there is no allegation that ANY of these stocks were spammed by the company). The CEO of my stock is infamous for being stingy with the PRs. I know that the PR claim is also bogus as regards EQBM.

Also note the hype attached to Operation Spamalot (this has been all over the news) and compare that hype to the market cap of these stocks--all very small companies.

They aren't trying to clean up the pinks, they are rounding up the usual suspects. And as always, it's to hide the fact that they have no intention of cleaning up anything. The SEC isn't protecting you, me or anybody else. They are hurting the small investor in order to protect the major scammers.

It isn't new either. Once or twice a year, the SEC suspends a bunch of small companies just to show they are doing something about corruption. Every one of you knows that's not true.

Business as usual is what this is. A lot of small investors are being hurt so that the SEC can continue to turn a blind eye to corruption in the stock market.
