I have noticed that some stocks have no MM or few MM's when looking at Level II. What does it mean and is it possible for one of them to run despite the small number of MM's involved in the stock?
For example, if a stock has some good news, low pps, etc. etc. and you expect it to go up, if there's not MM involved in the stock, is it possible for some of them to jump in based on that specific situation or no? Is it safe to play a stock with only a few MM's involved?

I don't like to "play" stocks that have few MM's on it...BUT when you are looking at the L2's...and the MM's that you see...other MM's can join in...just as sometimes you might see an MM on the bid and ask and then he's gone...some come in and out...not all MM's will trade each and every stock each and every day...
There were VERY few MM's on DANS the other day when it made it's run...BUT it made one heck of a run!
