If I have two cash accounts from scottrade and lets say I make three daytrades in them each week, would I be flagged as exceeding my daytrading limit since together the accounts add up to six daytrades a week or would it not matter since the accounts are seperate from each other?

Good question. I believe the day trade limits are per account. Given that I think you are safe to have 3 trades a week each. However, I'd talk to a Scotty rep. personally before doing so to confirm.

The way i understood this was that it was up to the broker...if you had your accounts with different brokers...then it wouldn't matter but since they are both with the same broker...you should do as Bigfoot suggests..and contact them to ask....
