If anyone has time can they explain what their best idea of why this has like 15 times the average volume it normally has. I couldn't find any huge news on it. The symbol is QNTA if I knew how to post a chart I would. I'll have to figure that out another day. But this is really puzzling me why it's so large. The rsi was good as well as the ema. The macd wasn't. It traded pretty much sideways for the past month. The last candle pattern was no big thing. Any idea would be much appreciated.

no, I'm sorry, I don't know... here's a chart, though (not real encouraging, but you should be able to link one with your preferred indicators from this example):

http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=QNTA&p=D&yr=0&mn=6&dy=0&id=p57539216484

They had a recent management change, but it wasn't announced that day. Occasionally, groups will grope a low-float Naz...check the float.

Despite the volume spike, it couldn't hold HOD...might check filings for a divvy or some other future news...

PS, edited in: future news includes insider filings...be worth a look.

Nothing I can really see. Low Float only 65M shares so TEX could be right. Group grope. You have to go back a bit but the last time this had big volume like this was on Aug 18th an AUG 21st. Looks like it bottome than bounced and couldn't hold HOD. Looks like a group grope to me.

Thanks for the answers. You got me to learn a new chart out of this question. The ADX I get. The stochastic I have to go over alittle more but think I get it. The aroon just blows my mind the way the lines are and the expanation. I get lost reading that one and trying to comprehend the expanation. So heres my last question on this. A Group Grope? I'm guessing that a large group goes in and buys to try to force the price up? is that correct?

lol...

"group grope" may be our own AS argot for "group play." doesn't have to be a "large group," basically depends on number of trades they can generate, once the "in-group" has frontloaded...

I think I figured pasting lol. I hope you don't mind all the questions. But how else to learn and see if I'm right or wrong. This chart I put in the full stochastic and the AMX as Tex had. I'm not asking so you tell me to buy just to see if I understand correctly. So as I interpret this chart the rsi is good, the macd looks like it will cross just under zero (which I know is not the best). The ema is grouped tight so I can't tell if it will come out 20,40,50 like it should. The STO would signal a buy since it crossed from under 20. So now if the ADX turned and hit 20 this would be a buy in your opinion?
I would love to see a chart that you deem a buy so I can see if all the oscillators and indicators are how you want them or if one isn't positive and you disregard that one since the others are all good. And thanks for all the help you guys have been giving me.

peeps read indicators differently...iow, what appears clear to me, may be muddy to you.

To me, the idea is zero in on 5-8 indicators that "resonate" with you, ie, indicators that you "get," given the stock's action. Then, from those you like, find the 3-5 that "work together" to indicate agreement.

Also, pennies not as good for charting as exchange-based issues; eg, a group-grope will show up as merely an anomalous "spike."

Tex, so was I way off in understanding the STO and ADX or was I close in your opinion. And now I have to ask you what .... iow.... means. I'm gonna take a long shot and say it is "in our world"
