How are the sales of shares determined? First come first serve? Does one brokerage firm sell/purchase at a faster rate than another? I am currently trying to sell shares of a certain company, unfortunately it seems that other investors have more luck in doing so than I do. Ughh...

Its first come first serve. if you change your order you go to back of the line. pennies and micro pennies, you very often won't sell stock until its bid at your ask.
