I'm posting this here as a lot of you don't read the offtopic.......I'm sure it will be moved.

It seems every year March (stock) Madness......the micro's go crazy...

Now, I'm just wondering if it college kids..(please don't take offense to the word kid..I'm just old LOL) with their tax refunds...

I'm asking this as I remember last year my son getting his check and asking me to PUHLEEEZE put it into one of those 1,000% gainers. LMAO

The micro's may seem WONDERFUL..."Wow, You mean I can buy $500.00 worth at .0002 and sell it at .0004 and make 100%"?
It does happen but, (and it's a big BUT) It's not always that easy. AND there is a reason they are trading at that price.

I am also getting a lot of PM's lately from college PEOPLE asking advise....Looks like there are a lot of you coming in all of a sudden and wanted to say welcome and BE CAREFUL!

Good luck.

Several :

ISPO - posted on the thread at, Micro Penny Stocks, Penny Stocks Under $0.10

POPT - Scares me to death, but the numbers say yes. Posted on the thread at, Micro Penny Stocks, Penny Stocks Under $0.10

CCMI - Gonna call the CEO tomorrow see if I can get some information, especially regarding the O/S -Float.

I really liked the numbers on EZTO on 2/23 - 2/24, but I checked the NV SoS to see if there was any increase in the A/S, and there was a boatload increase, so I scratched it. Go check what it has done the last few days. I swear, I'm gonna quit thinking, and just believe in the numbers.

An extremely long post describing my personal introduction to pennies......

Spoken as the college student that I am, here's my 2 cents..

In the Fall, I took a business finance class, and a lot of what the teacher talked about was the wonder of the stock market and compound interest. Mostly as a result of this, I started looking into the stock market.
I had made up some saved money from working throughout the Fall, so I had a safe little bundle of money that I could afford to risk.
After looking around and trying to find stocks that would be worth my time and attention, I kinda got dissappointed, and figured it was partially a waste if you didn't have big capital to start with.

I wasn't out looking for 1,000%'ers, just something that would be good and consistent and not a lot of effort. But those kind of stocks take years to give returns that are decent, especially when only starting with 500 dollars.

Then I came upon this little gem of a site. I looked around, looked at some of the posts, looked at the insights, the knowledge shared, the hope and the misery, and decided that this was something worth my attention. After starting up my Scottrade account and trying out my own hand at a stock I had felt had potential in the dollar market (On2 Technologies) and watching it fall from $1.06 to $0.96, I sold out of it.
At this time, I noticed that the biggest potential I had with it was to go up to about $1.20.

Enter the return of Allstocks.
I returned here, and browsed around some more. Looked at the record of certain people (JimSC and will) and saw the potential.
Instead of wasting my time with dollar stocks that would gain 20% over the course of months, I saw that there were many, many stocks that had 20% fluctuations within an hour.

Knowing this kind of thing goes both ways, I didn't wanna jump blindly.

So I entered RSHN. I saw the 1,700% launch of AXIGE and the early runs of JKRI, and while on those message boards, saw persistent messages by Jim saying RSHN was next.
I took a look at the chart, the company webpage, and agreed, and put my entire 500 dollars into it on Valentines Day.

Needless to say, a few days ago, it doubled and I happily got my 500 back, plus a beautiful ammount of interest. I left 500k shares in it, and took my initial investment out. I'm looking forward to what it does in the future.

For now though, I'm patiently waiting for my funds to clear (cuz I notice that one of the stupidest things to do with pennies would be to buy and expect to hold safely over the 3 days that it takes to clear).

In the meantime, I'm looking at all the posts here, trying to find another stock I feel comfortable with. I haven't found any yet, but I feel that in due time, another will come along.

Anyways, this is just the story of one 21-yr old college student making my first steps into the stock market world.
And in essence, I do agree with the idea that many college students get into it because of their tax returns. But I think a lot of it also comes from the teachings that go on in college classes that glorify money much more than high school classes might. Also, college is when a lot of people realize the importance and need for money a lot more.
I don't think all college students rush blindly into the market looking bright-eyed for the next 100-bagger, but I'm sure that some do, and that some are successful, and that some do, and lose their rent or car payment money.
I'm just glad that I for one, came across this site first before diving into a shallow pool of money head first. I may have gotten the taste of money on the tips of my finger, but my skull would crush on the impact of the bottom to a much more painful degree.

So in short, thank you, experienced and friendly posters of Allstocks, for making my first experience in this big, bad world of pennies a very pleasant one.

yeah its probably true, I know I expect to trade my federal.. why not? Im 18 and in college, virtually no bills except phone and self employment bills. Ill tell u now that any money i make this year is getting traded into a penny.

I made the mistake when I just entered to put my small amount of funds into a ETF.. Come on.. really.. anyway I saw a 5% gain from two weeks and left that. I knew about penny stocks but didnt know where to choose or look. I believe I was searching google for "penny/small cap stocks" and this site popped up, Probally the best thing Ive ever searched for on the internet [Smile]

the gains are beautiful, Ive made mistakes and learned, and I know I will continue to make mistakes and learn.. I just think its fun [Smile]

I would like to thank everyone for posting DD, letting me know what to look for, and trading advice in general, I think everyone here just helps each other.

In short, GREAT board!
