I have tried twice to sell my stocks (SIRI, CICI) but everytime they wont sell. The Orser just sits. Am I missing something or is that normal. I have set them a penny below what the bidding price was. Help is appreciated.

Not sure why they are not filling.
Perhaps the bid drops below your ask and never comes back?
If you are desperate to get rid of your shares place a market order.

disagree with Q on this one: market order too risky--but, yes, such an order will get it sold...

my guess? strange, crazy, I know...but "Ocham's Razor" says it's so--

my guess is you have NOT selected "sell" but instead have left your order-window on "buy."

As I understand it, most trading sw is set to "buy" as default--mine is.

If that's not the case? Suggest you correspond--first-chance--with your broker Tech Support..

Joe, it might do you some good to call your broker and ask him what's going on.

I think Ill call. I have it set to sell. The order just hangs. It finally sold by the end of the day but Im definitly not satisfied with the timing. Am I expecting to much to sell with 10 minutes so I can buy a new stock? I use Ameritrade.
