Im sorry, I know theres a million of these.
I set up an account yesterday (saturday) and put $500 into it. Its not showing up in the Funds For Trading area. I am assuming its because of the weekend, is this correct, or did I do something wrong?
I also (I assume) bought some shares yesterday. Will it all hit monday, or is there a few day delay?
thanks for any help, im just slowly working my way into this. Ive read several books, and can do my own DD. Now I think its time to start doing it for real.

That depends on what time and how you submitted it. If after 12am it will not show up until next trade day. If you pulled from a checking account you will have to wait 5 working days to buy penny stocks etc. If you sent it by wire , it will there monday and you can purchase any type stock you want to.

everything is done on "business days" which are Monday thru Friday.. so if you do something on Friday after trading hours or Saturday and Sunday you would have to wait till the next Business Day for it to take effect which in this case would be Monday unless it is a Holiday in which trading is halted for the day then you would have to wait for Tuesday or whatever the next business day is..
