PEORIA, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 09/17/09 -- Oceanic Research and Recovery Inc. (ORRV) (PINKSHEETS: ORRV), a marine salvage and exploration company, today announced it has hired Peter Tobia as a full-time consultant overseeing investor and public relations as well as other corporate matters.

"I have done extensive due diligence on many public maritime salvage companies and RSOPS is, in my opinion, the most professional treasure salvage team in the treasure recovery business," Mr. Tobia said. "The company has amassed comprehensive archival research and has a number of well developed projects. I'm particularly impressed by the fact that company has a world class salvage ship, the 110 foot RV Beacon, and is equipped with the latest cutting edge technology; we're ready to go."

"Mr. Tobia is an entrepreneur with 24 years of comprehensive international treasure salvage knowledge. He has more than 30 years experience as a founder, principal or director of nine public companies," Scott Heimdal, President of RS Operations, said. His particular areas of expertise include registration and reporting of public companies, investor and public relations, stock promotion, web site lead generation, analysis of viable international treasure opportunities, treasure business development and marketing of historical treasure and artifacts.

His collection of authentic 17th Century treasure chests is among the largest in the world. He has assisted in the creation of two Florida maritime heritage museums -- the History of Diving Museum in Islamorada and Pirate Soul in Key West .

Mr. Tobia holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University . He also holds a New Jersey Professional Engineer's license as well as Real Estate licenses with Thorpe Sotheby's International Realty in Vero Beach, Fla. , and Ward Wight Sotheby's International Realty in Sea Girt, N.J. , and specializes in luxury waterfront properties.

Potential investors and current shareholders are invited to view the company's newly revamped Web site at http://www.rsoperations.com. Existing shareholders are asked to register their e-mail addresses in order to receive timely information. The new web site includes weekly corporate and treasure salvage updates and a shareholder forum.

RS Operations (RSOPS) and ORRV this spring completed a merger between the two companies. The company is continuing its shallow-water activities while also beginning to develop deep-water shipwreck projects around the world.

today's news from website (http://www.rsoperations.com):

RSOPS makes 3H Consulting GIS software available for download and testing - 9\23\2009

RSOPS has implemented 3H Consulting's Site Recorder 4 as its primary site management and recording tool. The use of this program in our survey methodology greatly enhances the quality and effectiveness of the archaeological work we perform on wreck sites.

To date we have used a variety of different software packages and field procedures for performing archaeological studies of wrecks. Site Recorder's advanced features have allowed us to standardize and in some cases eliminate different procedures such as reduction of datasets, spatial correlation, profiling wreck site layers or strata and compiling of artifact property datasheets. It also provides a robust repository for the remote sensing data we generate from our magnetometer, side scan sonar and other electronic survey equipment.

This software has become the "standard" for marine archaeology and has been adopted by many organizations around the world such as the institute of Nautical Archaeology at Texas A and M University; the Swedish National Maritime Museum and the Australian Institute for Maritime Archaeology to name only a few.

RSOPS is releasing Site Reader and the Mary Rose site file so that interested people can become familiar with this software. In the near future RSOPS will begin releasing it's own site files so that the public can monitor the progress of our projects.

The RSOPS Forum
by sheimdal » Wed Sep 23, 2009 8:31 pm

Many people have asked me why I don’t spend time on the message boards. Now that RSOPS is running its own board this seems like the right place to answer that question. It’s a two part answer;

Years ago, when I first started RSOPS I did go out on the various forums related to treasure hunting. After spending several months on them I came to realize that they were eating up a lot of my time and the business was seeing no benefit from this effort. So, as I devoted more and more time to the business, I spent less and less time on online conversations.

Now that we’re a publically traded company there is an obvious need for communication with the public. There are many forums out there devoted to public companies; Ihub, Golden Boards, Raging Bull, etc. However, not all investors frequent all boards; putting out information on one site does not ensure all investors would see this information. For this reason RSOPS will only disseminate information or answer questions on the company forum. This ensures fair and equal access to information for all shareholders or members of the public.

We invite anyone to join our forum and participate in the dialogue. However, we have strict rules on the company site that basically say BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS!

Anyone getting out of line will have their profile and user account permanently deleted.
