World wide there are only a few major deposits of vanadium and Uranium Star URST appears to have found a world class deposit in its Three Horses property in Madagascar. The property covers 115 square miles and the assay results from the 2008 drilling program indicated significant vanadium mineralization which is open along strike and at depth in all zones. The northern and southern portions of the property were tested and every drill hole found vanadium. they are now getting ready to start a two month airborne electromagnetic survey of the property plus a ground level sampling and trenching using hand-held Thermo Scientific Niton XRF analyzer units which can give instant readouts of any samples collected. In addition to this, since uranium is frequently found in association with vanadium, they will also be doing an airborne radiometric survey, plus on the ground they will be using scintillometers to check for the presence of uranium. They will use the results of the two month exploration of the property to find drilling targets between the northern and southern boarders of the property to see if the vanadium ore extends throughout the entire property. This would indicate that the area contains a massive amount of vanadium and, as the company now says, "Uranium Star's vanadium project will now be called the 'Green Giant Project' because of its potential size, tonnage and grade that, when quantified, could impact the world's supply of vanadium." There are also indications that there may be gold and zinc on the property. It will take time to quantify what is on the property and then they will need to get mining and environmental permits. Luckly, the physical setting of the property is savannah in nature, instead of forest, and so there will be less problem in getting an environmental permit issued, and it also means that it will be easier to work up the property and mine it. Plus the company is working with the local people and government and this will go a long way in helping get a drilling permit approved.
Since December the price has gone from 2 cents to 9 cents a share, and as they do further drilling and show what is there, the price should climb even higher. Now would be a good time to buy some shares and then sit back and watch it grow over the years as they work toward developing and then mining the property.

Vanadium is used as an alloy in iron and steel. Small amounts of vanadium can produce high-strength steel for bridges, buildings, pipelines, and automobiles due to the weight savings it brings to these applications. Vanadium is also seen as a strategic and critical mineral for defense, energy, and transportation industries, and thus import dependence is a perennial concern.
