I know it no longer trades, but I had some (free) shares in my Scottrade account before that whack job CEO Peter Cirillo shut down trading RXPC for a year. Last week I got a bizarre mailing (in a pretty folder FWIW) that included shareholder letters and a certificate that appears to be the certificate form of my shares.

Did anybody get this? Also, how can these be legit if he mailed them directly to mee as opposed to sending them through Scottrade?

I really don't care one way or the other- I'm gonna do a little DD and find out what's going on. Ideally, I would like to declare these worthless and write them off on my taxes though...

My opinion is only that.

If they are actually certs, I am thinking about doing the following: (with about 60% seriousness)

a) burning them and declaring them a casualty loss.

b) selling em on EBay with no minimum bid(maybe one of those morons on ihub will buy em).

c) wadding em up and letting my cat play with em

working for a healthier you,
