not news but great anyway=just got his CEO email from last evening--------Bob,
Yes! Extremely busy from July until this week. Two training classes in that time plus a LOT of development work internally for the company. I had a breather for one day this week and now the month of October will be really hectic for the first 3+ weeks (news will explain that).
TV shows are still on. Thanks re the buybacks. We have "gotten" the funding in that the firm has committed to it, but it will be several more months before we would actually see any of that money. That doesn't mean we might not get additional funding before then from other parties, especially given all the developments planned for the next few months.
We do have plans to open more offices in the coming year. Probably some smaller ones to start and flagship ones later. We are considering reducing the authorized shares; we'll let you know.

at .0002 news!!NORTHAMPTON, MA, Oct 01, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Somatic Systems, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SMAS) is pleased to announce that throughout the month of October it will be meeting with the US military to discuss the company's proprietary Clinical Somatics pain management system to help soldiers and veterans with injury and chronic pain. Clinical Somatics is a natural treatment method that achieves dramatic results even in cases where medicines, surgeries, physical therapies, and other treatments have failed.
Somatic Systems will be meeting with supervising officers, directors, and other high-ranking administrators of several different military rehabilitation programs, army hospitals, and VA hospitals at multiple locations throughout the United States. Military officials are interested in Clinical Somatics as a solution for the crisis of acute and chronic pain in active and retired soldiers and to alleviate the addictions to medications and other drugs that develop as a result.
Contract proposals include Somatic Systems providing comprehensive inpatient Somatic treatment programs, outpatient Somatics treatments, and therapeutic Somatic group exercise programs for recovery and long-term health maintenance. Additionally, discussions are underway with military officials regarding Somatic Systems and their Clinical Somatics practitioners becoming approved providers for the military and Veterans Affairs. Approved provider status would enable Clinical Somatics treatment of active and retired military personnel and dependents to be paid for by the military.
Legislation introduced this year, called the Military Pain Care Act of 2008, requires the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, and Health and Human Services and the Surgeon General of the United States to implement and maintain a pain care initiative in all military health care facilities and for all active and retired military personnel, dependents, and survivors. The legislation requires that the Department of Defense contracts for medical care include provisions for the treatment of pain. Furthermore, the legislation requires that all those receiving treatment in military health care facilities are assessed for pain at the time of admission or initial treatment, and periodically thereafter, and receive pain care as needed.
The Military Chronic Pain Crisis
Approximately 3 million personnel serve in the US military, representing a multi-million dollar pain relief market. The implementation of a pain care management system is expected to have a significant impact on the personal lives of military members and the military service's combat readiness. The company's Clinical Somatics(TM) pain care techniques have been tested on numerous members of the US military with overwhelmingly positive results.
Nearly 26 million living Americans have served in the military, and the VA currently serves 70 million people, including family and survivors of veterans. Pain is the most common symptom in service members returning from combat and is the leading cause of disability amongst our nation's veterans. More than 40% of returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have reported musculoskeletal pain-related problems and symptoms, mostly from back and joint pain (which are specialties of Clinical Somatics). Yet, the Department of Defense does not have a comprehensive, consistent, or adequate pain care program.
In response, both the US Senate and House of Representatives have introduced and passed a variety of legislative measures that will help service veterans and the active armed forces better manage the challenges of chronic pain. These include the Military Pain Care Act of 2008; the Veterans Pain Care Act (which calls for the establishment of a pain care initiative in health care facilities of the US Department of Veterans Affairs), and the National Pain Care Policy Act (which calls for greater examination of pain management in the healthcare system as a whole).

Still. And something so simple too one would think. Steve did say this office would be like a show room for potential investors and visits would be by appointment, so I am more skeptical.
There is a process for them to be able to obtain a govt contract. And I still need to research their products for ownership/patents/medical ass approval. Haven't had a lot of time but I'll get there. You'll learn I like to do my own research. IHUB postings imo is NOT on the list of viable sources imo but can be used to provide ideas of where to search.

Just remember to always wear one of these when dealing with pinks...
This picture was sent to me with the following caption...
--- You've got to love our older Veterans. This man, 73, wears a protective flap over his ear while Senator Ted Kennedy, Barack O'Bama, and Hilary Clinton address the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I wish I could shake this man's hand..
I just want to know where he got it?

Maybe when they're done things can start moving. Does make me wonder how they are retiring shares though.
here is the ceo's reply when I asked him about the regdex 8-15-08---------------------------------------------------We are not dumping any shares. There haven't even been any sales on the open market of new shares since 2007.
I understand shareholders' concerns about dumping. However, I really fear misunderstandings about our actions because the false panic they create can hurt all the shareholders. There have been times in the past when we did sell shares into the market and they actually helped improved the stock's performance. And there have been other times when people have been convinced that price losses were the company or its affiliates dumping and it was absolutely untrue (in fact, that worry may have given pump-and-dumpers a "cover" under which they could dump without getting noticed). I don't think the misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the facts helps the shareholders or the company.
I am not disregarding shareholders' concern about pps or dilution. I'm just communicating some facts, and asking for all shareholders (who are invested and interested in the success of this company's business and stock price and market value) to work with us to grow the stock and company based on the facts and fundamentals. I think there's an opportunity in SMAS for shareholders to see the price grow and the company's business to grow.

Prior to the beginning of this aggressive buyback program, Somatic Systems had approximately 8 billion shares of common stock issued and outstanding. Cancellation of this round of shares brings the structure down to approximately five-and-a-half billion shares, eliminating over one quarter of the company's stock.
The sizable elimination of shares has all been completed within the one month since Somatic Systems announced it would begin a massive share acquisition and cancellation program, to restructure the company's capital and grow share price without conducting a reverse split of the stock. Furthermore, the company has stated its intention to continue to acquire and retire additional shares. __________________

looks like a P&D and smells like one too so far - IMO. I'll stop picking on it. Got my ticket, we'll see what happens. They've already milked many out of their money imo.

Got off the phone w/CEOa few minutes ago. He had to go because he got an incoming call from someone in "military development"(what's that tell us), but he asked me to call back later today.
When I asked about more news coming he said definately. They will always be releasing regular news going forward. He said he is aware that board is hoping/thinking that more news today would make this pop, but they are sitting on news right now waiting to see how the market goes based on the vote tonight before they release. If the overall market tumbles again in the morning he feels the news will be wasted, but if it looks like the market will do well after tonights announcement they will release it, otherwise it will be next week because they want the market paying attention.
I asked about the next buyback and he said they are in the middle working on it along with financials, debt financing, and a few other things, but he reminded me that most of his time this month will be tied up w/military meetings/discussions. He feels that a military contract will be more benifical then a sports contract/break through.
He said that multiple military sourceshave approached from different backgrounds with differnt angles/approaches that have said that they want to help support him in obtaining a contract. CEO is very excited about the military contract potential. He said that he would like to announce to the investors a firm military deal by the end of this year.
When I asked about the timeline for the next buyback, I asked if it would be within the next two weeks and he said "oh most definately" implying soooooooooooooooner!!!!
I'm pushing the post button because many are waiting to read. as I remember more I'll post it a few.
