Unico, Inc. Announces Proposed Amendment to Large-Scale Mining Plan Covering New Construction at Mill and Processing Facility at the Deer Trail Mine
9:33a ET February 28, 2007 (Market Wire)
Unico, Incorporated (OTCBB: UCOI), a natural resource company in the precious metals mining sector, today announced that the company has submitted a proposed amendment to its Large-Scale Mining Plan to cover expansion of the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine in Marysville, Utah.

The State of Utah's Division of Oil, Gas and Mining (DOGM) granted formal approval of Unico's amended Large-Scale Mining Plan for the Deer Trail Mine in April 2005.

Unico's wholly owned subsidiary Deer Trail Mining Company, LLC has added new construction elements to the existing mill site plan. As part of its amendment to the Large Scale Mining Plan, Unico has also submitted to DOGM a Form MR-REV equivalent with additional blueprints of the site modifications and a reclamation surety bond estimate.

The amended Large-Scale Mining Plan allows Unico to expand the scope of its large mining operation and execute its long-term plan at the Deer Trail Mine. Mining operations under the plan may include activities conducted on the surface of the land for exploration, development or extraction of a mineral deposit, including, but not limited to, surface mining and the surface effects of underground mining, on-site transportation, concentrating, milling, evaporation and other primary processing.

"The significant reconstruction that has been undertaken at the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine necessitated this amendment to our Large-Scale Mining Plan on file with DOGM," said Mark A. Lopez, chief executive officer of Unico, Inc. "The amendment covers the additional structures added to the site plan as part our efforts to increase both efficiency and capacity of the facility.

"We continue to be pleased with the progress of reconstruction at the mill site, and look forward to initiating processing operations at the facility as soon as possible. As the scope of operations at the Deer Trail Mine continues to grow, Unico will continue to comply with DOGM's requirements for permitting and posting of the required reclamation surety," added Mr. Lopez.

Back up to .006. Let's show todays good news.

Unico, Inc. Announces New Agreement for Additional Labor to Expedite Completion of Reconstruction at the Mill and Processing Facility at the Deer Trail Mine
Tuesday April 10, 8:55 am ET

SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 10, 2007 -- Unico, Incorporated (OTC BB:UCOI.OB - News), a natural resource company in the precious metals mining sector, today announced an agreement with FMS, Inc. of Huntington Station, New York for additional labor to expedite completion of the mill and production facility at the Deer Trail Mine in Marysvale, Utah.

Under the new agreement, FMS, Inc. will provide a crew trained and experienced in all phases of construction whose primary responsibility will be to aid in the completion phase of mill reconstruction at the Deer Trail Mine. FMS is expected to arrive at the site during the week of April 16 and begin work in several designated areas of the mill facility, including construction of the new substation that will provide electrical power to the Deer Trail Mine, rain gutters and flashings on the new mill building, siding and insulation on the fine ore bins adjacent to the main mill building, and other areas of the site where its construction skills can be put to use.

FMS, Inc. was previously contracted by Deer Trail Mining Company, LLC to assist with the construction of the new mill building at the Deer Trail Mine in the fall of 2006. During that period, FMS helped to build the 50 by 100 foot building adjacent to the existing mill facility that will house the thickener and filtration for the facility. FMS worked on the foundation, cement footings, the steel frame, insulation, siding, doors, roof, and all other aspects of the structure.

"The agreement to bring in this additional labor from FMS, Inc. is an indication of our commitment to complete reconstruction of the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine and begin establishing revenues from processing operations as soon as possible," stated Mark A. Lopez, chief executive officer of Unico, Inc. "Our previous working relationship with FMS makes this crew an ideal addition to the workforce already at the Deer Trail Mine, and the crew's experience at the site last fall will allow them to begin work more quickly and efficiently than other contracted labor.

"Unico and its wholly owned subsidiary, Deer Trail Mining Company, Inc., are taking every possible measure to expedite the reconstruction process, and we will maintain that focus until all of the remaining work is completed," added Mr. Lopez.

Once the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine is completed and operational, the company expects to begin processing existing stockpiled material on the property and sell the concentrates to establish revenues.

Unico, Inc. Announces Reconstruction Progress at the Mill and Processing Facility at the Deer Trail Mine and Additional Screening Plant Activity
Thursday April 12, 10:01 am ET

SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 12, 2007 -- Unico, Incorporated (OTC BB:UCOI.OB - News), a natural resource company in the precious metals mining sector, today announced additional progress of reconstruction of the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine in Marysvale, Utah. A new photo gallery showing the reconstruction progress, recent equipment that has been purchased for the facility and new screening activity at the Deer Trail Mine is expected to be added to the Unico website, www.unicomining.com, in the next several days.

Recent reconstruction on the mill and processing facility included completion of the catwalk between the existing mill building and the new building, which will house the thickener and filtration. The walls and floor of the upper deck annex building of the fine ore bin have been completed. The roof of this structure will be finished with the assistance of the construction crew from FMS, Inc., which is expected onsite new week. FMS, Inc., based in Huntington Station, New York, was contracted for additional labor to expedite completion of the mill and production facility.

Several pieces of equipment have been purchased for the Deer Trail processing facility, including four electrical control panels and one switching center with a stop/start motor control center (MCC). The pre-assembled two-sided control panels have been purchased in order to expedite installation and reduce time and labor requirements. Once the panels arrive on site, they will be wired and connected to supply power to pumps and other key equipment in the mill and processing facility. A Genie articulating man-lift with a 60-foot reach has been purchased for use in the construction of fine ore bin upper deck and other high structures at the site. Delivery of the newly purchase equipment is expected before the end of the week.

In addition to the reconstruction of the mill and processing facility, screening activity at the Deer Trail Mine has been re-initiated after a break in the winter season. The screening plant has begun screening additional material in anticipation of the start of processing operations once the mill reconstruction is complete.

"We continue to focus a significant amount of time and resources on the reconstruction of the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine and are pleased to report our recent progress to Unico shareholders," stated Mark A. Lopez, chief executive officer of Unico, Inc. "In the next several weeks, we are anticipating additional equipment delivery to the Deer Trail Mine, further progress on construction of the new electrical substation that will supply power to the site and additional milestones on reconstruction of the mill facility. The arrival of the crew from FMS, Inc., scheduled for next week, should further speed the completion of our construction work and bring us even closer to initiating processing operations at the Deer Trail Mine."

Unico, Inc. Announces Additional Updates on Reconstruction Progress at the Mill and Processing Facility at the Deer Trail Mine
Wednesday April 18, 9:40 am ET

SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 18, 2007 -- Unico, Incorporated (OTC BB:UCOI.OB - News), a natural resource company in the precious metals mining sector, today announced additional updates on the progress of reconstruction work at the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine in Marysvale, Utah. A new photo gallery showing the additional reconstruction progress at the Deer Trail Mine is expected to be added to the Unico website, www.unicomining.com, in the next several days.

Several of the electrical motors in the main mill building have been wired and will be tested upon completion of the sub-station. The recently purchased electrical panels have been delivered to the site, including the Genie articulating man-lift with a 60-foot reach that will be used in the construction of the fine ore bin upper deck and other high structures at the site.

The company has reported delivery of the filter bags used for the Eimco filter in the new mill building. The filter bags were ordered from National Filter Media of Salt Lake City, Utah and are currently being installed on the filter sectors. Once installation of the filter bags on the filter sectors is completed, the filter sectors will be installed on the filter.

Also in the new mill building, cross braces that support the upper mezzanine floor plate have been installed, and installation of the floor plating has begun. The steel supports for the upper concrete floor above the conveyor pump slot have been installed. An all steel plate for erecting the thickener tank has been purchased and is being machine-rolled for installation.

A complete set of new screens for the screening plant was ordered from Kimball Equipment (http://www.kimballequipment.com/) of Salt Lake City. Delivery of the new screens is expected next week. In preparation of continued screening plant operation, a significant amount of time and effort has been spent servicing the Cat Loader and hard-facing the Loader bucket and the Case Excavator bucket. New rollers are presently being installed on the Cat D-7 dozer, in order to improve reliability for screening plant operations this season.

Insulation for the fine ore bin has been delivered in preparation for the arrival of the construction crew from FMS, Inc., who will perform the actual installation. The perlins for the fine ore bin are expected within the next several days.

A new road into the substation is now complete with sufficient width and quality to accommodate a 50-ton crane and transformer transport vehicle.

"The reconstruction work at the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail continues at a brisk pace, and we are pleased to see the ongoing progress in virtually every area of the site," said Mark A. Lopez, chief executive officer of Unico, Inc. "We look forward to the arrival of the construction crew from FMS, Inc., which has been contracted to expedite the completion of any remaining construction at the facility. We are committed to keeping shareholders updated throughout this process with press releases, our monthly newsletter and the photo galleries that are regularly added to our website."

Unico, Inc. Posts New Photo Gallery Showing Delivery and Installation of Main Transformer for Electrical Substation at the Deer Trail Mine
Tuesday May 15, 9:58 am ET

SAN DIEGO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--May 15, 2007 -- Unico, Incorporated (OTC BB:UCOI.OB - News), a natural resource company in the precious metals mining sector, today announced the addition of a new photo gallery to its website, www.unicomining.com, which shows the delivery and installation of the main transformer for the new electrical substation at the mill and processing facility at the Deer Trail Mine in Marysvale, Utah. The new photo gallery can be viewed by visiting http://www.unicomining.com./news/othermedia.php.

The pictures in the new gallery begin with the preparations for the delivery of the General Electric transformer, which was purchased in January 2007 from Denver Magnetic, Inc. There are several photographs of the pouring of cement for the concrete pad for the transformer, which was then cured in time to set before the delivery of the transformer to the substation site.

Additional photographs show the transformer being delivered to the Deer Trail Mine and then taken to the site of the new substation. Once it arrived to the location of the substation, the transformer was mounted on the concrete pad.

With the main transformer now in place, additional work on the substation will be undertaken, including fencing, installation of the metering station and switchgear, and installation of the power poles. Electrical contractor Cache Valley Electrical (http://www.cve.com/) has assisted with the work at the substation, including the installation of the grounding circuit, 4-inch conduit and smaller conduits, which were also installed prior to pouring the concrete pad. Once the remaining work on the substation is completed, electricity producer PacifiCorp (www.pacificorp.com), which operates in the state of Utah as Rocky Mountain Power, will supply the connection to the substation.

The primary voltage of the transformer is 46,000 volts, which will be provided to the Deer Trail Mine from PacifiCorp, which operates in Utah as Rocky Mountain Power. The secondary voltage of 12,470/7,200 will be sent to the mill by direct burial cable. The 12,470 voltage will then be further reduced to the required 480 volts required to operate the mill. The availability of additional voltage allows for the planned future expansion at the site, including larger crushing equipment, an additional ball mill and power to operate mining activities as needed.

The design and completion of the new substation is expected to provide substantial cost savings for Unico's wholly owned subsidiary, Deer Trail Mining Company, as a result of lower energy costs and greater reliability.

In addition to the photographs of the transformer delivery and installation, the new gallery includes several pictures of the electrical work being undertaken inside the main mill building at the Deer Trail Mine. In addition to the substation work, Cache Valley Electrical is assisting with the installation of electrical conduits, controls and wiring inside the mill buildings.

"We are pleased to show the latest developments related to the construction of the new electrical substation at the Deer Trail Mine, particularly the delivery and installation of the main transformer for the substation," stated Mark A. Lopez, chief executive officer of Unico, Inc. "We look forward to the completion of the remaining work at the substation so that the Deer Trail Mine will have sufficient power for processing operations at the mill and processing facility, as well as additional future activities planned at the Deer Trail Mine."

Shareholders who would like to sign up to receive information by email directly from Unico, Inc., including when new photo galleries are posted to the company website, are asked to visit the company's website at http://www.unicomining.com/IR/mailinglist.php and fill in the appropriate fields.

Wow! This thing still dropping. Just how low will it go. They have good PR's, so they must be diluting or something.
