MM2 Group Announces Record Sales of Its Resveratrol Grape Powder Wednesday November 29, 8:00 am ET
Company's Subsidiary Sells $185,000 of Product in Two Weeks
LIVINGSTON, N.J., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MM2 Group, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MMGP - News) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Genotec Nutritionals, Inc., a New York based nutraceutical company which generates its sales through custom formulations for several large strategic partners and from the distribution of its branded products, has established new sales records for its resveratrol grape powder. Sales in the last two weeks alone have exceeded $185,000. Total sales of the product for all of 2005 were only $16,000.
Researchers at the Harvard Medical School and the National Institute on Aging report that resveratrol, which is a natural substance found in red wine, offsets the bad effects of a high-calorie diet in mice and significantly extends their lifespan. Their report, published this month in Nature, implies that very large daily doses of resveratrol could offset the unhealthy, high- calorie diet thought to underlie the rising toll of obesity in the United States and elsewhere.
Resveratrol is found in the skin of grapes and in red wine and is conjectured to be a partial explanation for the "French Paradox," the puzzling fact that people in France enjoy a high-fat diet yet suffer less heart disease than Americans.
