I'm like ClayN...do it part time at work for fun with not a lot of money. I just started trading a few months ago, and I'm up approx 60%. If this continues I might try playing with more money. I would love to do this full-time, but I don't think I'm confident enough yet for this to be my only income.

J, it's after hours--no harm, no foul--right?
I guess. Only the really good ones?

What's the minimum someone should make to trade pennies full time to cover expenses, cost of living, and possible risk of losses? Do most full timers make at least 6 figures a year?

P/T only as I'm not ready to give up my Linux Security Admin position just yet.
I play sparringly, but have done very well with JAVO and FMNJ so no complaints this year.

only play the good ones, how do you not get penalized for daytrading, you only get three roundtrips in 5 trading days, or is that the only trade you make is on monday and you only make one trade a week

I am an Investment Banker, but could retire simply from my trading gains. I'll be 30 in one month’s time. I started with $500 many years ago. I became much more knowledgeable about outstanding share counts, dilution, and how market makers operate. If you do enough homework, you pretty much always win. You have to follow your guidelines though, never waiver. And yes, I know Invester is spelled with an OR. Investor was taken.

part time now for 5 years, in and out.. im busy with university, double majoring in business admin and biological science.. I also own my own business..
I spend some time on weekends looking for the next pick...during the week i do more research and check the days movers.
I start work at 11:00 AM eastern and leave my house at 10:30. So if something is moving in the morning I play it. If it's iffy I leave it alone, or else it could tank while I'm in the car. I do have 1 hr in the morning though, and can usally make quick trades off news(in and Out). I do have tues, sun, and fridays off though. I work at a call center and I can make trades in between calls, but more than half the time my microcaptrade doesn't work because the computer's security.
But F this, I need to find a job with a 4-12 **** so I can trade and not miss these runs.
Hey Batman I work at a call center on the west coast they have security but scottrade is not blocked...
Trading PT with little amounts. Been trading for only a few months with little success yet but thats how you learn I guess Buying your education.

Your right, I have Scottrade, too. So what I do is load my watchlist in Scottrade with 20 Scottrade elite yet, mabey that's better for pennies. But it can't replace what microcap offers, with the news, filter, and trading alerts. Sometimes it doesn't even matter because my boss catches me, and tells me I'm not supposed to be on the net. She knows because when she listens to my calls sometimes there's pauses in between the calls, or a delay at the begging of the call. I'm either making a trade or flipping through allstock and IHUB. LoL I provide the worst service.

I have no greed issues. Can't be greedy when the money is always flowing the wrong way. I play at work all day. I would love to do this full time if I can ever figure out what I'm doing. LOL

seems like almost everyone struggles with the greed issue, after getting burned so many times that greed thing is starting to fade away, if we all continue to pull together as a team on this board i dont think there is any reason all of goals shouldn't be accomplished, lets all hit this full time and be millionaires, its allright to be greedy, go ahead and take whats yours, just get out before everyone else does, thats what we need to learn is timing,

I work full time as a Network Administrator, so depending on the day, I can either do it full time or part time. Usually more part time since people ALWAYS have a problem with something, but lately it's been full!
It pays to be an Admin since they don't question anything I do with my laptop

Part Time. Three-four years of trading now.
Want to buy the wife her horse farm while we can still enjoy it.
Got a ways to go but the track record is improving.
