Next week is Hurricane Preparedness Week and Hurricane Season Starts June 1st. The warmer ocean waters are expected to make this year one of the worst hurricane seasons. They're even talking about hurricanes migrating to the northeast. I know some of you already have stocked up on these hurricane stocks but for some of you who haven't, better now than later. Be prepared!
Here are my picks that haven't run yet.

Northeast could be hit this season according to an article I found...

Hurricane experts have warned that the Northeastern U. S. could experience a major catastrophe if a storm the size of Floyd were to strike that part of the country. While today's FEMA plays the spin game, James Lee Witt (the guy who used to run FEMA) was quoted last month as saying: "one of my worst fears was that a hurricane like Floyd or Andrew would come right up the East Coast." In other words: The next victims of FEMA's ineptitude could include the political insiders in the Northeast Corridor who have responded to the tragedy with excuses, indifference, and finger-pointing at local officials.

A professional journal called Business Insurance ran an article last month called "Powerful hurricanes pose huge catastrophic exposure for Northeastern U.S. States." The article quotes an insurance industry expert as saying

"We see the Northeast hurricane as a big threat ... larger than the threat we see in Florida, even though Florida has larger hurricanes."

Without adequate preparation, said the expert, "we may get badly surprised."

Other experts cited the Category 3 hurricane that struck New England in 1938, with sustained winds of 121 mph and gusts of up to 184 mph. That storm moved inland at 50 mph, leaving little time for preparation or evacuation. "That's why they called it the Long Island Express," one analyst remarked. In today's more highly populated North, such a storm could be devastating, with extensive flooding during surges that reached 17 feet in 1938.

"Florida's had some preparation," said one consultant, while another noted that "It's been 50 years of a lull in the Northeast." And Witt worries about evacuation: "Roads haven't kept up with development - which makes evacuation planning even more critical."

Is today's FEMA planning for this kind of catastrophic event? How will they respond? Will they be prepared? You're welcome to your own speculations. But pundits who are sitting in their safe and cozy Northeastern homes telling themselves "it can't happen here" should think twice. Next time tragedy strikes it might not be in America's Third World. It could happen in the very bastions of privilege where the comforted blame the afflicted, rather than their leaders, for the suffering they endure.

MSEP - ask .003 x bid .0029 [Smile]

Chart bottom.

http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=MSEP&p=D&yr=1&mn=6&dy=0&id=p97225066693

MSEP Is the perfect Hurricane stock. imho

After a Hurricane you need to wash your car. What to do without clean water. Not to worry, MSEP new product called Spray n Shine(TM) is coming out in June. Perfect timing for Hurricane season.

*************************************************

http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/060412/20060412005754.html?.v=1

Spray n Shine(TM) is the first of five automotive specialty car care products to be announced under the Luyendyk Pro Series(TM) brand. Spray n Shine(TM), an automotive waterless wash and wax, is a spray-on application designed to detail between 4-6 cars or 8-10 motorcycles without the use of water, leaving a finishing coat of Carnauba wax. Spray n Shine(TM) is currently in production and will be commercially available in June 2006 with initial pricing set within the parameters of a mass automotive consumable -- between $5-$10.

"The Luyendyk Pro Series(TM) line is one of the best car care products available for automotive consumers. I am very impressed with Spray n Shine(TM), especially the end result," stated Arie Luyendyk Jr. "Spray n Shine(TM) washes and waxes the car without using water. It's amazing! As a MSEP shareholder, I am excited about my involvement with this unique line of products."

Racing legend Arie Luyendyk stated, "We put a lot of thought into the Luyendyk Pro Series(TM) product line. Spray n Shine(TM) is an ingenious way to wash and wax a car without the typical hassles. Automotive detail shops, repair shops and auto dealers will benefit from this product. There are many practical users for Spray and Shine(TM), especially if you live in an apartment or condo. The cost of Spray n Shine(TM) appeals to every demographic and should quickly gain popularity throughout the car club scene. Jr. and I are excited about the different line of products coming out."

Keaveney concluded, "Initial marketing efforts will concentrate mainly on television (commercials, infomercial and home shopping channels) leading into national distribution and major retail chains. The Luyendyk name speaks volumes in the automotive community and our products have instant credibility. With the Luyendyks having a vested interest in both MSEP and the new product line, we will work closely together in developing and marketing products. All Luyendyk Pro Series(TM) products will be sold on our specialty Web site -- www.cleancarkit.com and our Quadriga MotorSports(TM) Web site."

About Luyendyk Pro Series(TM)

C'mon Joe, go pump MSEP elsewhere. That stock is played out right now... it had its run last year. What, do you own like 100 million shares and are in the red? STOP pumping MSEP in the hurricane threads. You know as well as I that if Florida gets wiped out tomorrow, NOBODY is buying MSEP.

And if you don't know that, than your 500K posts are the most worthless info. on the planet.

If you keep this useless pumping up, I will bash the sheet out of MSEP on every thread and board I know.

NLST is a specializes in storm restoration. I have worked in numerous hurricanes (Isabel, Charley, Frances, Jeanne, Dennis and Katrina) over the past few years and this industry is booming. This year will be another active hurricane season. Maybe not like the record 2005 season but possible top 5 of all time. Repair prices skyrocket during the hurricane season which leads to a higher profit margin. I know because because I inspect damage and pay the claims. Do your DD on this one. I am familiar with the restoration companies that NLST is associated with. These companies have an aggresive sales force which do high volume of restoration repair. I have not bought this stock as of yet but the more I look at it and my familiarity of this business I think this will be a good play for the summer.

Yes it does. And I will film them just as I filmed three already.
I had a "feeling" about New Orleans so my wife and I visited there three months before the disaster.
I have since had a "feeling" the Keys will be near gone and Orlando will be taking a direct hit. Only time will tell....

For those of us in hurricane paths please do take precautions and do stock up with supplies. For those that loot, be warned, I keep all my weapons loaded and in hands reach at all times.

RSHN - very cheaply priced IMO
I say this because back during the Katrina days the Gov bought millions of bottles of water. Alot went to waste because of the "stale" water smell months later. How ridiculous.
Maybe the Gov will buy E-water which would create a less of a demand for medical care in the time of need. Why? Because there would be less people in need of electrolyte and water imbalances giving the critical care units time to save people in real dire need.

hey guys dont know exactly where everyone is from, but im from lake charles, and we had the big RITA {not a stock symbol the storm} come through here in october of last year, couldnt get back to town for 2-3 weeks, so in my opinion what hurricane plays should be are supplies that we needed and had a short of. so i will say from first hand, because there is no electricity and nobody here. possible things to look into in my opinion for hurricane plays,

HOTELS-they are still booked due to no homes

TARPS-any companies providing the famous blue tarps, no house without one

GENERATORS-
GASOLINE
WATER
CAN GOODS
SHINGLES
WOOD
CHAINSAWS
REAL ESTATE

this is what was important, think about it food, shelter and safety, anyway do your homework and if you find a good company that rocketed last year due to the storm, with gulf waters heating up more hurricanes predicted, those stocks more than likely will jump back up again, any stocks you know of from last year give us a post thanks

The reason we are seeing more CAT 5 hurricanes is the water temperature is warmer in the south Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico which is like pouring gasoline into a campfire. That is why these storms are becoming more destructive every year. Prices go up as well as profits. Money I was in RSHN and will enter back shortly when it turns.

That was a good post Tmoney. I was in Baton Rouge just before Rita hit. My wife saw the hurricane turn and we went back home to Minnesota. Twin Cities got hit with hail. I had plenty of work so I didn't return south. The devistation while driving along the gulf was unbelievable. This was worse that what you saw on television.

The one industry that is always overlooked is debris removal. I talked to someone who went down to the Gulf area and he cleared $53,000 in two days doing tree removal. There is even more money in debris removal. I will keep an eye on this thread and I'm with you on this one MoMOMoney. Please post any companies that could be hot for this summer.

they still are removing debris from the roadsides down here, but most of the companies were mom and pop companies, and FEMA but if you could find a company with some stock let me know i will be on the look also, might have to search for the equipment companies that these debris removal companies get there equipment from, tractor companies, bull dozer backhoe trachoe, ect.

MSEP the perfect hurricane stock, heheh, that was a great one! I actually laughed out loud. [Big Grin]

Hmmm let me think what else.

CCGI, after a hurricane everyone needs a sign of their favorite sports teams to cover their busted windows!

AURC, after a hurricane....gotta get some gold to replace that broken tooth.

XLPI, is all those gas refineries get busted up again...why not give ethanol a try!

HAH, that was funny. Going all out to pump that MSEP...'A' for effort anyway. Keep up the comedy work, you might have a future.

hi
my first post on this board !
yep, hurricane-plays are gonna be HOT !
i used fridays dip to get into NLST, i concur with djg7...
NLST was going nuts last year !
went over 3$
i´m sure there are plenty of good hurricane-plays( and i´m sure i will play most of them) but NLST is my number 1
it´s already in a nice´n steady uptrend ,but yet far from where it will be trading during summer...
