Altus Expands Agreement With Centro Medico Excel
PALM DESERT, Calif., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Altus HealthCare Incorporated (Pink Sheets: ATUH) announces the recent expanded agreement with Centro Medico Excel, Tijuana, B.C. Mexico, to include comprehensive hospital services in addition to outpatient surgery services. Centro Medico Excel, a modern full service hospital, agreed to expand its relationship with Altus beyond its surgery facilities and permit access to the Altus Network for all procedures and services that the hospital offers. The agreement will include diagnostic and therapeutic services in addition to elective and non-elective surgeries for both inpatient and outpatient services. With this agreement, Altus' physician network will be able to offer first class comprehensive hospital services at affordable prices. Altus and Centro Medico Excel will jointly strive to make this undertaking a success, and will continue to plan to expand the services being proposed in Tijuana into other regions along the US-Mexican border.

This 'Border Community' has been termed one of the most 'underserved' areas of the country in healthcare delivery by the joint commission established by the governments of Mexico and the United States. This target population has difficulty getting proper medical treatment as a result. Altus has focused much of its energy on providing solutions to this community by combining the combined efforts of its Network of physicians and surgeons and quality facilities. Altus CEO, Dr. D. A. Leatherman stated, 'It is our hope that Altus will play a major roll in bringing quality medical care to the border community at affordable prices.'

About Altus

Altus provides administrative and patient focused services to the greater healthcare community. Its focus is on bridging gaps in the healthcare system where the system fails to deliver the services needed. In particular, it serves the natural network formed by Patients, Physicians and Healthcare Facilities by providing physicians and clinical facility operators with strategic services which orient their business to more effectively serve the patient and helping patients connect with the best facility and physician to meet their needs. Altus does this by creating 'networks' of physicians and healthcare facilities that represent 'best of breed' and that have the time and desire to work with new patients.

Looks good here also. Here's some more info

ATUH closes the gap between physicians and patients by providing a multitude of services that works both ways. ATUH helps patients find physicians, facilities, products and deal with financing.

On the other end ATUH help doctors by providing the following services; facility usage, scheduling issues, marketing and IT support.

There are over 4000 stand alone outpatient surgery centers in the US, most of which are privately owned facilities. Statistics show that of the 4000 centers, most only operate at 27% capacity. ATUH's goal is to contract with these facilities to bring this percentage up.

ATUH just recently released news that they have hired eFusion Consortium to develop their brand awareness. Robert Billings, CEO of eFusion, has stated that some of the world's most recognized brands have flourished under their leadership including BMW, Sony, Heineken, HBO and Coca-Cola.

ATUH announced huge news after the bell today! ATUH expanded it's agreement with Centro Medico Excel.

Centro agreed to expand its relationship with ATUH beyond its surgery facilities and permit access to the Altus Network for all procedures and services that the hospital offers. The agreement will include diagnostic and therapeutic services in addition to elective and non-elective surgeries for both inpatient and outpatient services.

With this agreement, ATUH's physician network will be able to offer first class comprehensive hospital services at affordable prices. ATUH and Centro Medico Excel will jointly strive to make this undertaking a success, and will continue to plan to expand the services being proposed in Tijuana into other regions along the US-Mexican border.

The CEO of ATUH was recently interviewed about the future of the company. I suggest you read the complete transcript at: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/060323/phth024.html?.v=46

ATUH is going beyond borders by expanding into Mexico.

Dr. Hernandez has accepted the position of Executive Vice President of Physician Services for Mexico. The position carries with it responsibility for building the company's physician syndicates throughout Mexico. Initially, Dr. Hernandez will focus on the northern states and federal districts, but will gradually expand the network to Mexico's populous inland regions.

Dr. Hernandez believes the ATUH healthcare model provides an effective solution to the healthcare needs of not only Mexican citizens that fall outside of their own healthcare system, but also the increasing number of Americans crossing the border for treatment at his facilities.

The PR was right at the 4PM EST.

Closed at .17 , but it was trading in .17-.20 range the whole day. Not much volume though.

52 Wk High / Low $ 0.60 / $ 0.06

There was a 5 to 1 forward split in April 2006.

The volume seems to be VERY low.

ATUH is in a market that has very promising statistics. According to actuaries at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), annual healthcare spending by 2011 will rise to $9,216 per person in America -- double the amount spent per capita in 2000. The healthcare industry is growing to care for an aging population. According to Census estimates, more than 40 million Americans will be over the age of 65 in 2010.

ATUH's purpose is to act as a bridge that connects patients with the physicians and facilities that serve them. ATUH focuses on helping patients connect with the best facilities and physicians that will meet their specific needs. Since 1999, ATUH has provided services to patients and physicians that foster better decision making, more effective healthcare delivery, and an improved quality of health and life for the patient.

ATUH concentrates on bridging gaps in the healthcare system where the system fails to deliver the services needed. In particular, it serves the natural network formed by patients, physicians and healthcare facilities by providing physicians and clinical facility operators with strategic services which orient their business to more effectively serve the patient and helping patients connect with the best facility and physician to meet their needs

Some of the services that ATUH provides its patients include: Information regarding healthcare options, validation sources, physician selection and referral, facility selection and scheduling, logistical support and assistance, life science and lifestyle products/services, access to healthcare facilities and doctors, and procedure financing.

ATUH helps physicians and healthcare facilities maximize their facility usage, overcome procedure scheduling issues, obtain lower cost operational and administrative support, market their facility, obtain IT and IS driven logistical support (insurance verification, billing, etc.)

"In the traditional healthcare model doctors have the desire, but they don't have the time. In the Altus healthcare model we create the time they need by building "networks" of physicians and healthcare facilities that represent "best of breed" and which operate in ways that allow the time needed to work with new patients. Face it: Doctors are just as tired of the current healthcare system as their patients are. They too are seeking ways to more effectively connect with their patients and focus on the only thing that matters: the patient's health. At Altus we create an environment that allows them to do this by bringing together world class, best of breed healthcare facilities of modest size, and staffing them with equally world class doctors that count the patient as first on their list," stated CEO of ATUH Dr. Dennis Leatherman
ATUH's focus is on the health and wellness vertical, targeting elective weight loss surgery, cosmetic surgery and those forms of outpatient surgery conducive to Ambulatory Surgery Centers (e.g. orthopedic, podiatric, arthroscopic, and general surgery.)

ATUH's target on elective weight loss surgery is significant because more than 61% of the U.S. population is overweight and of this figure, 27% of these Americans are clinically obese. The number of weight loss surgeries performed in the U.S. had grown by 450 percent from 1998 to 2002, according to a new study.
