National Hyperbaric Rehab Center Signs First Hospital Contract
SALT LAKE CITY, May 09, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- National Hyperbaric Rehab Center Inc. "NHRC" (Pink Sheets: NHYB) announced today the completions of negotiations and the execution of a duly signed contract with El Dorado Hospital and Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. El Dorado Hospital has been serving the Tucson Community for more than 28 years offering a wide variety of specialized programs including inpatient and outpatient surgical services, vascular lab, diagnostics, ambulatory care and Diabetes Lifeskills program. They will now add a 5,000-square-foot division specializing in hyperbaric and wound care treatment.
El Dorado Hospital is managed by Tucson Medical Center. Tucson Medical Center, part of a system known as TMC HealthCare, has become one of the 300 largest hospitals in the country and the largest in southern Arizona. TMC has earned numerous awards in recent years, including Quality Leader and Consumer Choice designations by the National Research Council, and listings in the Top 100 hospitals for stroke care and orthopedics by Solucient in Modern Healthcare magazine.
"El Dorado Hospital will serve as a model for our national hospital expansion roll-out," stated NHRC's president, Jerry Gines, "We are thrilled to work with this caliber of hospital management that has the foresight to embrace the healing benefits of hyperbaric medicine to target healing, specifically non-healing wounds in diabetic patients." The agreement provides for NHRC to act as a contractor to manage the newly formed department, and provide wound care and hyperbaric treatments for patients through the hospital's community outreach program. NHRC will also provide education opportunities for all of the staff in the Hyperbaric Rehabilitation Department.
