June 05, 2006 08:46 AM US Pacific Timezone Imperia Entertainment Releases Preliminary Report and Initial Sales Forecasts from Cannes Film Market BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2006--On Sunday May 28th, 2006, Imperia Entertainment (Pink Sheets:IPRE) was issued a Cannes 2006 preliminary report by sales agent Patrick de Bokay. Imperia Entertainment is now making the contents of this initial report public. Executives from Imperia Entertainment, a PR team, sales agency, director, producers and some of the cast were on hand for the 2006 Cannes film festival and film market in order to promote the feature film "Say It In Russian" (www.sayitinrussianmovie.com). The team was limited to only having a promotional reel or trailer, as the film is still in post production, but the promotional campaign was a tremendous success. Said Patrick de Bokay, sales agent, "We have approached the key independent theatrical distributors from the major countries. The promo-reel did its job of conveying the high quality of the movie. This had a very strong impact." Mr. de Bokay made the following points in the report:
-- Prior to the festival a mailer went out to more than 850 key world buyers regarding "Say It In Russian."
-- "Say It In Russian" was represented in a booth in the Palais 01, which was an effective spot, allowing the team to present the film to all passing buyers.
-- Additionally, members of the promotion team met with several top buyers from around the world.
The preliminary report went on to provide a professional assessment of the sales forecast based on initial results at Cannes. This forecast ranges from approximately $2.5 million to approximately $6.5 million in foreign sales. "It is very difficult to have a fair estimate of the potential as of now, because first we have to see the finished film, and it is also dependent on our ability to close a U.S. distribution deal," said de Bokay. "Domestic sales are generally equivalent to total foreign sales, depending on whether the film is positioned as a theatrical film, which this film is being positioned as," said Executive Producer and Company Chairman, Kenneth Eade. Imperia's president James Hergott remarks: "I was pleasantly surprised at the estimates given in the preliminary report, as they were in excess of my expectations. It seems that the trip to Cannes has created a great foundation for future sales of this movie upon completion of postproduction. The Cannes team did a fantastic job of raising awareness."
The company's film "All That I Need" was positioned as a direct to consumer DVD, for which foreign sales were estimated at approximately $240,000. In other news, the company has given notice of a shareholder meeting for June 12th, at which the shareholders will be asked for authority to amend the articles of incorporation to effect a possible reverse split of the company's common share capital. A high quality trailer for "Say It In Russian" is available at http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2729972.

I think the reason IPRE is tanking is everyone and their brother is buying XKEM, The reason IPRE ran in the first place was because the sales was expected to be great. This PR was bad news.

Long term on this still has potential, aside from r/s, the projects are still going on and deals being made, so by end of year we could be seeing green, but it really looks bleak for next couple months.

Sad sad day. So many people had such high expectations on this (including myself). I originally got in at .0007 so I ended up in the green with this (not nearly as much as I wanted to though). I just wish I stayed out when I originally sold everything. I lost a bunch when I bought back in though.

A reverse split is the opposite of a stock split. A 1:10 reverse split means that a company gives you one share in exchange for every ten you own. The purpose of a reverse split is to raise the share price of the stock, and thus increase its marketability. If a stock has fallen to $1 per share, a 1:10 reverse split should raise the value of the stock to $10 per share, all things being equal. The capitalization of the company and your percentage of ownership in the company don't change.
