BICO's WebPhone Introduced at Apartment Industry Trade Shows
By PR Newswire Last Update: 12/8/2004 12:07:00 PM Data provided by
DOVE CANYON, Calif., Dec 8, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- BICO, Inc. (Pink Sheets: BIKO) announced today that its cXc Division began its launch of the E3 Video WebPhone Internet appliance and associated services by introducing it to the National Multi-Housing Industry at two key trade shows. The E3 offers fast, easy access to E-Mail, the Internet and has a built-in digital camera to support taking and sending snapshots as well as videoconferencing over a standard telephone line. The associated service portfolio delivers content such as built in ISP, targeted advertising and fulfillment options that enhance the apartment residents living experience. In return, apartment property management companies gain a totally connected community allowing them to deliver consistent messages and interact with their residents whether or not the resident owns a computer or has an Internet connection. The property manager also shares in the revenue generated from advertising and other fulfillment activity.
BICO/cXc participated in the National Multi-Housing Council's Annual Technology Conference in Houston. The National Multi-Housing Council sponsors this annual event as the premier educational and trade show venue for those apartment professionals responsible for applying technology systems at both the management company and property level.
One of the participants, Andrew Smith, President of Ancillary Services Management, LLC observed, "The E3 Video WebPhone is the best new product/service I have seen in the last five years. Not only does this device assure that each and every resident is connected to the Internet, but it also helps decrease the operating cost (by allowing the leasing office to E-Mail notices rather than using staff to distribute door to door), and it delivers a new source of ancillary income." He added, "In the future, I would not be surprised to see the E3 Video WebPhone become a standard item in every apartment home."
BICO/cXc also presented their offering at Multi-Family Pro's "Brainstorming" in Las Vegas. The annual Brainstorming trade show focuses on highlighting innovations for the Multi-Family industry, and is attended by top industry leaders and marketing professionals.
Again, the E3 product and services were met with enthusiasm. According to Kellie Falk-Tillett, Executive Officer of Drucker & Falk, LLC, "This technology is exciting for the Multi-Family Industry. Placing these web phones in our apartment homes does a couple of big things for us. First, it allows us to offer a cutting edge amenity that will generate a good response from the young renter demographic. Second, it gives us direct access to every one of our residents through the E-Mail accounts that come along with the phone. These are two big benefits for an apartment manager." Drucker & Falk LLC is managing agent for over 26,000 apartment units in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
