I just got this Apex Newsletter email from Ameritrade. Does this mean WE can be like NITE, SCHB and the rest of those bums??? LOL

New site feature: More ways to trade small-cap stocks
It's now possible to short sell stocks under $5 on our Web site. Another change coming soon will deliver quotes for pink sheet securities on the site, providing you with access to more information when and where you need it.

When trading OTCBB and pink sheet securities, please understand that they can be very volatile and are frequent targets of fraud and manipulation. When trading them, it's important to understand that you may lose your entire investment.² In addition, the risk of loss on a short sale is potentially unlimited (since there is no limit to the price increase of a security). Because there's no guarantee that a brokerage firm can continue to maintain a short position for an unlimited time period, your position may be closed out by the firm without regard to your profit or loss. You may only short sell securities in a margin account. Margin trading increases risk of loss and includes the possibility of a forced sale if account equity drops below required levels. Margin is not available in all account types.³

Wow forced buyins YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAA. I like to only play it long, thank you; especially on ones where forced buyins are imminent.

But honestly, I think this is a good thing, although it scares me a little. Now players of POS stocks have something to worry about, and company fundamentals will play a primary factor.

Hey - I've NEVER bought an OTC or Pinky that DIDN'T go down - no matter HOW good it looks!

Your correct, however the change to under 5 dollar nasdaqers is really going to juice up the traders, for awhile..

That mention of BB and pink sheet stocks at the end mislead me. I thought the penny world as we know it was coming to an end.

lol, AT's got lots of dissatisfied customers lately...gvrp/mamg; bcit--lottsa complaints, lottsa free trades given away as concilliation.

Dusty, please DON'T encourage mo to change MO from penny PnD to Nasdaq basher... [Wink]

I can verify the information is correct as i have also recieved the email from Ameritrade...it will get very interesting shorting $5 and under, even if it is on the nasdaq....The ever evolving market, forming into the way retail traders would like it to be....

On a bad note, i dont think Ameritrade is gonna have level II for pinks...it seems to me, by the article, that they are gonna have level I quotes, or just the bid/ask on the stock...would LOVE to see pink level II as it would save me an extra $43 bucks a month at alpha!

Great news nonetheless, and yes as some pointed out, the other brokers will not be far off
