The PDS solution provides payment origination for debit card loading that can come directly from an XL Payment Systems Customer Service Representative or an XL Payment Systems branded website. XL Payment Systems implemented Payment Data's IPS ACH*Gateway which is a Microsoft(R) .NET Connected webservice. President and COO of Payment Data Systems, Inc. Louis Hoch, said, "We are very pleased to be able to deliver this solution to this relationship with XL Payment Systems. XL Payment Systems has done well issuing VISA branded cards and we believe our risk & fraud systems will provide effective loading of funds for their consumers while minimizing the risk for all participants."

Payment Data Systems Projects Record 2nd Quarter Revenue
06:00 a.m. 07/25/2005 Provided by

- PDS Continues on Path of Sustained Record Growth -
SAN ANTONIO, July 25, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- In review of the transaction volumes processed during the second quarter of 2005, Payment Data Systems, Inc. (PYDS) is able to project that it will show a continuation of record reported revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. In addition, both the credit card transaction and dollar value volumes for June will show as our highest processing month to date.

Commenting on the increase in processing volume, Michael R. Long, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Payment Data Systems, said, "We are pleased to report that our credit card transaction and dollar volume growth for the second quarter of 2005 is trending upwards of 26% for transactions and up 29% in dollar volume above the first quarter of 2005. Also, our customer base continues to grow in numbers as well as relative size per account. We have grown to over 80 customers today."

Long added, "Revenue generated by our merchant customers continues to contribute significantly to our overall numbers. However, we are monitoring a shift in our business and it is possible that higher margin stored-value cards could overtake that number within the next year. Of course, both product lines remain strategic in their value proposition to our customers and in our revenue development."

Long continued, "Perhaps one of the more satisfying aspects of our business is that our larger and more complex customers are seeing the value and depth of our solutions and are adding on additional services from PDS."

Enables Major Increase in Rate of Projected Growth

Plasticon International Inc. announced that the company has contracted with five new sources of recycled plastic resins. The new resin supply would provide enough recycled plastic resins to fulfill Plasticon's projected orders for the next 10 years.

"The sheer abundance of recycled plastic is one of the most attractive qualities of our sector," said Jim Turek, President and CEO of Plasticon International. "With five new sources of resins, which allow us to fulfill our orders over the next decade, we can now focus more on our sales and marketing efforts. We can also assure our distributor, which is the largest building materials distribution company in the United States, that we have enough raw materials to fulfill all of their orders." Mr. Turek noted that the increase in recycled plastic resins was mainly due to recycled plastic from landfills. "Our suppliers are now looking at the plastic in landfills as a major source of resin. The nice thing about working in our sector is that there are POSITIVE side effects to our business, rather than the traditional negative side effects with many industrial businesses. We not only provide value to our customers and our shareholders. We also indirectly perform a public service by helping to recycle plastic materials that are found in landfills across the United States. Being environmentally-friendly is very important to us - we have been a green company since our founding. I think that people are finally beginning to understand that being environmentally-friendly is not only the right thing to do; it also makes good business sense because unlike many natural resources, the materials are incredibly abundant." Progress Being Made

Digital Recorders, Inc., a market leader in transportation, law enforcement, and security digital communications systems, announced that despite long delays in the completion of federal reauthorization legislation for public transportation funding, the Company believes progress is being made.

According to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), a two-day extension has been implemented with notation that additional extensions might be required in bringing the legislation to conclusion in July. APTA notes that federal public transportation funding currently under consideration by Congress could reach an all-time high of more than $52 billion over a six-year reauthorization period - more than 40 percent greater than the expiring funding legislation. The proposed amount is part of the overall funding in the federal "highways" bill expected to come under the reauthorization of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21), where total U.S. Department of Transportation funding being considered is in excess of $280 billion.

"U.S. public transportation has operated for more than two years with the uncertainties created by short-term extensions of TEA-21 initiated by Congress in lieu of the historical and intended six-year reauthorization legislation period. Federal funding has been available at historically high levels during this interval, but I believe that underlying longer-term funding uncertainties have been a source of significant market disruption. While there can be no certainty on the matter, it now appears that Congress may soon complete this essential piece of legislation which is so vital to the country's transportation infrastructure. The transportation industry has people to move, jobs to fill, communities to serve, and safety and security issues to consider. Reauthorization of this six-year legislation should lead to progress in all of these matters," David L. Turney, the Company's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President, said.

Revenue Grows 19% in Third Quarter

Datawatch Corporation, a leading provider of business intelligence, data transformation and IT support solutions, today announced results for its third fiscal quarter of 2005.

Revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 were $5,619,000, up by 19% when compared to $4,709,000 for the quarter ended June 30, 2004. Net income for the third quarter fiscal 2005 was $330,000 or $0.06 per diluted share, compared to net income of $100,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, for the third quarter fiscal 2004.

Revenues for the nine months ended June 30, 2005 were $15,815,000, up by 10.5% when compared to $14,311,000 for the nine months ended June 30, 2004. Net income for the nine months ended June 30, 2005 was $183,000 or $0.03 per diluted share, compared to net income of $819,000, or $0.14 per diluted share, a year ago.

As of June 30, 2005, the Company had $4.4 million in cash and marketable securities, an increase of $0.8 million or 23% from the second quarter, and no long-term debt.

Commenting on the third quarter's results, president and CEO Robert Hagger said, "We are excited by the progress being made at Datawatch. A good result was achieved in our third fiscal quarter by significant improvements to revenue and net income, compared to the same period last year." "The increase in sales is attributable mainly to license revenue generated by the successful launch of Monarch V8. Monarch is used in 95% of the Fortune 1,000 companies as a desktop report-mining tool for legacy data. Now with added capabilities to easily extract, analyze and export data from PDF files, as well as HTML files, reports, databases and spreadsheets, the market for this product has expanded. The new version was launched late in March 2005, prior to our successful user conference in San Diego, California." "Revenue from Enterprise-scale Business Intelligence and Service Management products was up by only 3% compared to the same quarter last year, partly due to a shift from our traditional licensing model towards a subscription licensing model. In spite of this shift, recognized revenue increased by 7% for the fiscal year-to-date. Nine new subscription orders were taken in the quarter, helping to add to the growing subscription revenue stream of $129,000 for the quarter as compared to $3,000 in the same period last year, and $307,000 year-to-date versus $10,000 last year." "We continue to invest in growing the business over the medium term. Sales and marketing expenses for the first nine months of this fiscal year was $6.5 million versus $5.5 million a year ago, and research and development expenses increased $681,000. We are very pleased by this quarter's results and satisfied with our year-to-date position." Datawatch previously announced that the Company will present and discuss its third quarter of fiscal 2005 results today at 2 p.m. EDT in a live conference call broadcast via the Internet at http://www.vcall.com/CEPage.asp?ID=92615 . Listeners are recommended to go to the website at least 15 minutes early to register and download any necessary audio software. An archived replay of the broadcast will be available for 30 days at the same location.
