Are there any stocks out there that anyone would recommend for a long time hold (2-3 yrs) for a college student to buy now, put away and hold onto for a couple of yrs. Are there any penny stocks that anyone thinks can reach $10 + ? I know that trading in pennys is like playing the lotto but any insight would be helpful...Thanks

Just to make sure we understand you correctly, you are looking for something that is now <$.10 and in 2 or 3 years will be worth $10.00. You are looking for 10,000% in 3 years? Is this correct?

you may want to consider MBAH, it just bounced off its low recently. and big news of 3 more new store openings and pps spiked high as 28% today off the news and there are 31 more store locations to be added in the near future. alot of aqusistions recently completed by MBAH, profitabilty expected in the near future. but i doubt you will see $10 pps anytime soon. but theres still alot of potential here for this growing company.

If you want a stock to hold for a couple years then look elsewhere. 99.99999% of all penny or micro-penny stocks are scams or are run by chest slapping windoww licking morons. Try looking at some NASDAQ stocks or even some AMEX stocks if you want a long term hold. OTC and pinksheets stocks are meant for traders not holders.

No matter what people will tell you. Most pennies will not run huge and maintain that level. It is so extremely rare for a penny stock to become more then that. A penny. Usually if it does, it's where a company reverse merges into a penny stock and then it takes off. And you never know which will do that. Might find one that has a real low o/s that hasn't done a r/s in its past.
But most pennies listed here that are large threads are dead now anyway. The longs just don't want to give it up. They will tell you that it will run soon but if you go back 6 months they were saying the same thing. I hate saying that but its true.
Dilution is the key. If they are diluting then run fast no matter what anyone tries to tell you. Pennies are good for one thing. Buy low, sell high but never hold long. Thats what make you money in this market. Don't let anyone try to tell you different.

I tend to disagree with the consensus here. I do agree that anything .01 and below is not a great long play (but I think there are a few out there) but I guess it depends on what you consider a penny stock. I think there are many stocks trading between .05-$5.00 that are very good long-term buys, you just need to find one that tickles your fancy. Especially appetizing would be any oil and gas exploration companies or small biotech companies. Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of volatility and risk involved, but these types of companies have the potential to make the type of growth you are looking for.

I would strongly suggest staying out of this market. It is truly one of the worst investments you could ever make. Look for property at delinquent tax sales or invest in the big boards. Most people here I would bet have lost more than 2 times what they've made in the otc.

Just to put in my 2 cents. I have not been doing this for a long time but I have made about 10% on my money for the last 3 months. Over all I have made some money. But if it were me I would look at Tech/Comm Stocks: GLBT and IVOC Oil Stocks: to many to list
What I look for is stocks that have gone so low there is little chance to have them go further with out a r/s. The poroblem with long term holds here is that when a stock reaches 300% of its value people sell and take the profit. This means that having it turn into a micro penny stock to a dollar stock wont happen. That said I am always looking for one to do the same for me. Read the threads as see what people have to say. Then do you research and pick a few. Buy a couple of hundred worth of 5-10 and just sit on them and see what happens. The worst you could do is lose $2000 or so.

But that was the exception that I was talking about. They reversed merged and bought rights in Graceland. They didn't make it on there own merits. Give me one example of any stock under .18 that has went to a dollar. And I bet it will be the only one you find. As a said some shells that got taken over like SPEA did it but thats a different story all together. Look at all the stocks that was suppose to go to a dollar last year. TCFT, IBZT, GZFX, WMNI, QBID, and many others. All the so call gas and oil penny's like USCI that burnt there investors bad. Or CNES that trapped everyone then diluted to no end. Oh well, I have been in pennies a long time now and I hear it all the time. This ones going to a dollar. Well they may run a bit but they always fall and never get close to a dollar.
Now those that are over 20 cents are a different story all together. They do have a chance. 20 cents seems to be the difference between a loser and a could be.
