Has any one tried it on a Windows Mobile compatible cell phone? Can you access Ameritrade (or any other broker) via mobile cell?

If so, can you place buys / sells?

Thanks

BJ

Bryan, I trade all the time with Ameritrade on my Sprint Palm One.

I started out with a less expensive Sprint phone. ($200?) When I encountered a problem with my phone, they accidentally upgraded me to a Palm One. The less expensive one worked just as well for trading purposes.

Really! I was hoping for an answer like that! So do you encounter any delays or any other issues that slow down the process? Would you recommend the palm one?

It is not as fast as a PC, but it's very handy when you have to be away from your PC. They can probably let you try one out at a Sprint store. As I said, the one that is a step down from the Palm One seemed to work just as well for stock trades. Ameritrade has its own web page where you can get real time quotes, etc. one at a time. There is no streamer, and you are limited as to how much research you can do.

I already had an account with Ameritrade when I got my Sprint phone. All I have to do is go to their web page and punch in my password, etc. If you set up an account with Ameritrade, you have the option of trading this way or on your PC. My son has Scott Trade, and I'm 99% sure that he is able to use his Sprint phone to trade through them, too.

Is that the same as a TREO?

Do you have to pick one or the other? Can you easily switch beteen working on your PC, then picking up the phone and working on it when your away from the computer?

The Treo is the less expensive of the two, the one that I originally had. Yes, you can switch back and forth between phone and PC.

Bryan, I am always in my Etrade account with my Nextel. To trade or just check on quotes/account status. Etrade charges $9.99 for pinks/OTC's.

As far as delays, as with any cell phone service, you might hit dead spots or spots with weak signal, and therefore you could find delays.

But other then that, it's great! PM me if you have other questions.

Bryan, I may have made one technical error. The Palm One may be in the Treo family. But I know that there is a Treo that is not as expensive as the Palm One. You might be surprised at where all I am when I do trades!

Thanks Future..

I like to be mobile. I think the best story I have is when a friend and I were both on my boat fishing in the middle of the day on a tuesday. We both had our laptops on wireless connections and were both on seperate conference calls while mutting every 10 minutes to reel in a whopper!

Now I can trade too!! "Multi-tasking!"

Take care.
