QUEER LOUNGE RETURNS TO PARK CITY 12/23/2004 8:50:00 AM
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Lauri Blue ? (323) 876-5991 Lauri@blue-ent.com
AFTER A SUCCESSFUL DEBUT, QUEER LOUNGE
IS POISED FOR A TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO PARK CITY
(West Hollywood, CA ? December 22, 2004) Last year?s Park City sleeper hit, the Queer Lounge, will make its triumphant return to the city this January during the Sundance and Slamdance film festivals, January 21st ? 29th, 2005 in central Park City just off Main Street at the Gateway Center. Queer Lounge became a phenomenon in its freshmen year as a venue that held impressive parties and discussion panels. As the hub for queer and queer-friendly festival-goers, Queer Lounge has a reputation for being a uniquely accessible environment for everyone?gay and straight. Queer Lounge will highlight queer-content films or those made by queer filmmakers programmed at concurrent festivals.
With strong support from the Park City community and corporate donors, Queer Lounge has expanded its festivities for 2005 to include a music series/concert line-up - including a live performance from the band Cake, an after-party for the Scissor Sisters? performance at Club Suede, various film parties, as well as, discussion panels (all to be announced at a later date).
?We have a great lineup of events and programs this year,? explains Queer Lounge founder, Ellen Huang. ?The diverse slate of films at these festivals is a rallying point for the queer community. Sundance, in particular, has launched some of the most successful queer films in history, and our independent efforts bring awareness and support to this trend.?
Even though the Queer Lounge is not affiliated with Sundance or Slamdance, veteran film publicist, Mickey Cottrell dubbed the lounge ?the most significant event for queer people at the festivals in the last decade.?
This year's sponsors of the Queer Lounge include Presenting Media Sponsors: here!, Planet Out, the Advocate; and other major sponsors: Absolut Vodka, Q Television Network, TLA Releasing, Tylenol PM, Coors, Stella Artois, the B. W. Bastian Foundation, Wolfe Releasing, Elizabeth H. Solomon, Cahoots, Perrier, Picture This! Entertainment, Outfest, Frameline, BMI, ASCAP, Cybersocket, Passport Magazine, Xodus Magazine, Salt Lake Metro, Girlfriends Magazine, HX, Pink Magazine, Strand Releasing, Power UP, Newfest, Ron Bukovitch and Scott Jaffa, Coffee Garden, the GLBT Community Center of Utah, and Out in Television and Film. More sponsors are to be announced before the Lounge opens in Park City.
Here!, the first network dedicated to gay and lesbian programming, is one of many companies that have signed on as a returning sponsor of the Queer Lounge. "Not only did we sign up for a second year as a sponsor," states here!?s Executive VP of Acquisitions and Distribution, Mark Reinhart "this year we are proud to be broadcasting the events and happenings at Queer Lounge and give you a preview of some of the hottest upcoming queer films and talent..?
A bit of history: Queer Lounge is the first film-festival hospitality space devoted to queer films. It is an independent project not associated with Sundance, Slamdance and other films festivals that comprise the Park City ?dance? festival frenzy. Last year, over 4,000 people visited the hub to relax, attend panel discussions or celebrate at one of the five hit parties held at the venue, including a Showtime party for the premiere of ?The L Word,? a party for Sundance entry, "Harry and Max," and a revival of the legendary ?Homos Away From Home? party with John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) spinning.
Also, last year the Queer Lounge made local and national headlines during the festivals when a Salt Lake City theater cancelled a theatrical engagement of the film ?Latter Days?, a movie about a gay Mormon missionary. TLA releasing held an emergency press conference at the Lounge where representatives from GLAAD, Equality Utah and Outfest vocalized their support of the film, eventually finding a theatrical venue for the film to exhibit.
?We are thrilled to be involved with the Queer Lounge in 2005 because of their wonderful support during the Latter Days experience,? says Lewis Tice, National Press Liaison of TLA Releasing. ?The Lounge offers incredible opportunities for freedom of expression; it?s a safe space for film enthusiasts and professionals to be passionate about their dreams, creativity and differences.?

Q TELEVISION NETWORK OFFERS ITS PROGRAMMING FOR SYNDICATION AS OF JANUARY 2005
SEATTLE TO AIR Q'S "ON Q LIVE" ON COMCAST CABLE
MANHATTAN, BOSTON AND SAN FRANCISCO AIRING THE ALL-GAY, ALL-THE-TIME TELEVISION NETWORK
New York, NY (20 December 2004) -- Q Television Network, the television network for the gay and lesbian community, announced today that it will make some of its signature programming available for syndication.
In its first deal, Q Television Network will syndicate "On Q Live," to be aired in the Seattle area in January 2005 on a digital cable station carried on Comcast Cable which currently has over 400,000 subscribers. "On Q Live," is a 2 1/2 hour live, interactive prime time news and entertainment talk show with three hosts and seven correspondents throughout the country. Viewers can participate in discussions on various topics important to the Gay and Lesbian community via email or webcam.
"Syndication will also create a new profit center for Q Television," stated Frank Olsen, President and CEO of Q Television Network. "We hope if they get a taste of the candy they will want the whole candy bar," said Olsen. "Some people are afraid of gay television because they don't know what it is. This is our way of giving potential 24/7 subscribers a sample."

1 thing about Q that amazes me is the pps. we know that the o/s is a bit high but its a start-up so to speak, even though its been in the works for yrs. but we also know the the actively traded numbers are around 3.5 billion after the buy back & frank retiring his shares which for starting a new tv network isn't to bad. we have gotten positive news for a bunch of months now, things pointing to the network moving in the right direction & getting things in place for quality & informative & entertaining programing. true we don't have a lot of outlets for income but that has & is improving. yet still the pps is 1/2 a penny. i think Mr. Spock's brain would be melting because its just not logical. when the market finally does accept that Q is for real it's going to fly. maybe this part of the syndication pr holds a hit as to why....

maybe the sub numbers aren't as thought they would be yet. i'm sure that will change.

I own QBID and although this is my first post I have been reading this board for 6 or 7 months. I had to write when I saw someone say they wanted U4 banned. This action I must protest.
I for one want to thank old U4. His post provide some of the best comic relief around. I sometimes catch myself laughing out load at his post. I couldn't even imagine putting that much time and effort into writing a post about a company I professed to hate and for the benefit of people I thought were so stupid for investing in that company. U4 is like the cowboys in the old serial western I watched as a kid. We have bet the ranch on QBID and like the Lone Ranger on laughing gas he rides into town to save us all from the evil Dr. Frank. (Someone ask Frank to grow a handlebar mustache so he can curl the ends and chuckle fiendishly.)
In fact, U4 is both a comic and a humanitarian.
Please U4 don't leave us, post more often the world needs more laughter.

as for flushing U4, i'm thinkling that if things we do flush could speak they would be telling us how insulting lumping U4 in with them is. in fact we might have a turd protest insisting we no longer include U4 in with their daily swirl down the drain. rolls of charmin coming in here telling us how at least they started out squeezably soft & double ply. so for their sake maybe we need to find something less degrading to the flushing world.

Welcome Reddragon!
One item you need to know. U4 owns more shares of QBID than any five other posters on this board combined. Furthermore he is presently buying more or you would not have seen a recent post.

Thanks T-man!
I like to continually remind myself (and anyone else interested) of the big picture.
I'll sell a block at .25 & another at .50 but I will not let go of my core position until we see $1.25! Many here do not really believe this thing will ever hit a buck. I'm convinced it will.
Matter of fact I'm convinced that the only way I do not see a dollar a share is if Frank sells the network before we get there. And not long ago he issued a PR right after I wrote that I knew he would not own this company five years from now because he admits to & has a documented history of developing & selling media companies. In his PR he says he has no plans to sell at this time.
He went on to say he's looking for alot more value. He'll get it! So will you & I!
Because we know,,, Broadcasting National TV Networks do not trade for less than a dollar a share!
