(NOTE:Ive read about gaps and i know what they are so please dont post any links or text explaining them..answering the question would be fine )

My question is:

News after hours or before, whether good or bad, will create up or down gaps. So lets say if stock ABC released good news like an increase in revenue 30 minutes after the closing bell on monday. Would that gap be just as strong , on tuesday, as having the same news come out 30 minutes before the opening bell on tuesday. Would the times that the news is released have the same effect or different effect?Which news would effect the stock more?

i noticed alot of stocks react stronger to news that comes out 30 min to 60 min prior to the opening bell. Am i right? or just cioncedence?

thanks for the help

Trends and patterns. Good eye. Companies intentionally and strategically put out PR's to create such gaps. You are right with your assumption to a point. The gaps created do not differ regarding time PR is released. But apparently more traders DD prior to market opening than immediately after the market closes, thus, statistics reveal that morning PR's seem to create a better run than PR's that are released immediately after market. Statistics rarely lie. Trends and patterns. Keep it up. It's key. Ruff!!!

P.S : For OTccharts, How can i tell whether the volume is a buy or sell? You can't really look at the Time/sales screen and see it there right? Is there any way to know if its buy or sell?
