I'm with Ameritrade and having problems once again. I haven't bought or sold anything today so I don't know if that's working or not. I can get quotes but I can't access my positions page. When I do it gives me a message that says "this account has no positions". Now that I think about it, they're right, at least no positions worth a damn anyway.

Ameritrade must be down. They keep showing CMKX at .0001, that can't be right can it?

I e mailed them yesterday and all I got was an apology I am really tempted to just go with Freetrade even though they are down just as much as Ameritrade.

Whenever Ameritrade is down, freetrade usually is too. I am down with Freetrade right now. I have a sell that I think may have gone through, but I can't review my orders for the day right now. This really blows!

kbpkt not only do Ameritrade and Freetrade go down together but the only difference between us is you pay 0 and I pay 10.99. I have a quick question for you, have you been satisfied as having Freetrade as your broker? I would really like to do away with these 10.99 commissions I would like to pay 0 atleast for the first 20 trades per month that is. TIA

My Ameritrade just came back up. I sent them an email asking for ten free trades. I let you know what their response is. This seems to be a weekly thing.

Until the last couple of days, I have had no complaints about Freetrade. If you have the $5000 to open the account, I don't see why you wouldn't. Like you said, the first 20 trades are free, and only $3 for the next 20, then $2, then $1. You can't beat the commission. However, if you need guidance, then Freetrade is not for you. The only way you can contact them is through e-mail. There is no phone contact. On days like today and yesterday, all you can do is e-mail them. You also don't get a streamer for free, you have to pay for that. However, if you use a system like Quotetracker, then who cares about Freetrade not having one for free. I would recommend Freetrade to anyone that qualifies to open an account with them.

Thank You kbpkt I think I will go with Freetrade then I probably spent 100's if not 1000's already this year on commissions alone. I will still probably keep Ameritrade as my main broker but only use them if I plan on keeping my position many months. Thank You again

Wow Legal you got a quick response, I just got off work and checked my e mail and I recieve nothing as of yet. The only response I got was a curtesy conformation that Ameritrade recieved my e mail. I responded to it saying I have not recieved a response. Its kinda funny though because it seems like I get more response from Freetrade and they give 20 free trades a month.

I only got 3!
I just told them that I was attempting to get on line and make some key trades that I missed due to that fact that there system was down and has been often lately. I also stated that I attempted to call several times with no avail. I told them that I felt I missed some key trades and that I do alot of day trading with them and felt I should be compensated with ten (10) free trades.
