Well, then, is that smokey-like haze in the distance from the "pipe"?

Scientists are warning that Mount St. Helens could erupt sometime today, and with more force than previously expected.
"There is a 50 percent chance or greater that there is going to be an eruption and a good chance that it will involve magma," said Tom Pierson of the U.S. Geological Survey. "We're watching very closely." On Friday the volcano spewed a harmless plume of steam and ash into the air, but it was still the biggest eruption by the volcano in 18 years

Bah, I was up there on Friday when it blew...just missed it by a few but got to see the remnants of steam and ash. A few buddies and I rode up to Windy Ridge and were about 3/4 away from the end of the road (closest observation point to MSH) when suddenyl we come around a corner and found that the rangers had blocked off the road. We were about 4 miles away or less. I didn't feel any tremors but the week before while riding south of there I felt two big rumblings.
Lots of tourists and onlookers up there so Friday was a good call especially now that the road is closed! Windy Ridge is probably one of the best motorcyle roads in WA state so we just had to get on more run in before snowfall....or eruption.
