BLUE ISLAND, Ill., Dec 15, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- V-Net Beverage, Inc. (Pink Sheets: VNTB.PK-News) announces it has secured Modern Products as master distributor for V-Net's Allimax(R) Nutraceutical Water(TM) following its phenomenal acceptance at SOHO Expo 2004. Modern Products, founded in 1925 by health-food pioneer Dr. Gayelord Hauser, is a leading provider and distributor of natural/organic foods and products in America. Modern sells directly to the largest drug chains including CVS, Walgreen's, Rite-Aid and Osco, and plans a major national campaign to introduce Allimax(R) Nutraceutical Water(TM) to all its numerous contacts over the next 60 days. In order to maximize the product's reach into the marketplace, Allimax(R) Nutraceutical Water(TM) will also be marketed through Modern Product's own network of 18 natural foods distributors.

Available for distribution in first quarter 2005, Allimax(R) Nutraceutical Water(TM) is a unique and delicious beverage incorporating natural spring water, pure berry flavors and AlliSURE(R), patented stabilized allicin. A powerful anti-microbial derived from garlic, allicin has been shown to defeat a range of bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, and abbreviate cold symptoms. Scientific studies show AlliSURE(R) effective against certain strains of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, so-called "super-bugs."

V-Net further announces its current product offerings-- Rush Herbal Cola, Ginseng Rush, Ginseng Rush XXX-- were also received with great acclaim at recently concluded SOHO Expo 2004, a major natural-foods trade show. Samples of all our beverages were available at Modern Product's booth, and trade response was unreservedly enthusiastic. Retailers avidly snapped up the show's 25-case special.

"We are especially delighted by the phenomenal acceptance of our new Allimax(R) Nutraceutical Water(TM) by retailers attending SOHO Expo 2004," said Robert Corr, President of V-Net. "In the near future, V-Net will announce additional allicin-based, anti-microbial specialty products. We believe there are numerous untapped ways AlliSURE(R) can be beneficially used."

Corr added, "The flu-vaccine shortage and increasingly virulent microbes worldwide make it imperative to re-examine ways people stayed healthy before the advent of modern medicinals. At V-Net, we are working to expand the potential of revolutionary, patented stabilized allicin."

Healthy Beverages Soar Again
Wednesday Dec 22, 2004
By: Jim Wagner, Editor

After years of growth, fortified beverages show no signs of slowing down. Could it be something in the water?Healthy beverages are a profitable category. According to Business Communications Company, Inc. (BCC; Norwalk, CT), functional beverages were the largest segment of the functional food industry in 2002. Overall growth is expected to slow to 5.7% annually, but BCC expects phenomenal growth in some subcategories, leading to an $11.5 billion segment in 2007.

Positioning a launch against a trendy, conventional product is another effective strategy. V-Net Beverage Inc. (Blue Island, IL) took on the big boys when it reformulated low-calorie Rush Cola. V-Net expects to compete favorably with reduced-calorie sodas such as Coca-Cola C2.
'We've conducted an informal taste comparison pitting Rush Cola against Coca-Cola C2,' stated Robert Corr, president. 'All-natural Rush Cola delivers cola flavor without artificial sweeteners. With C2, one had to hunt for the cola flavor, and some were put off by C2's use of not one, but three artificial sweeteners.'

Coca-Cola C2 is sweetened with aspartame, acesulfame potassium, and sucralose.

Coor, a 25-year beverage industry veteran, formulated Rush Cola with ginseng, rhodiola, and other herbs. 'The cola giants have strayed from the real cola flavor they offered years ago,' Corr says. 'Most consumers don't even know how good a natural cola beverage can taste, much less a natural cola boosted by an array of legendary herbs.'

AMERICANS DRINK MORE WINE AS PRICE FALLS
Copyright 2004 XINHUA NEWS AGENCY.

LOS ANGELES -- Americans are drinking more wine than before, consuming upward of 22 billion US dollars of wine annually, Los Angeles Times reported this week.

Citing figures from the Wine Institute, the trade association for California's vintners, the paper said the average American of drinking age consumed about 3 gallons, roughly 15 standard bottles, of wine last year.

Last year, US wine consumption rose 5.2 percent -- its biggest surge since 1996. At the same time, beer drinking fell 0.3 percent, Tiziana Mohorovic, an analyst at Adams Beverage Group, told the paper.

When the numbers are in for this year, Mohorovic expects wine to post at least a 4 percent gain, once again outpacing other alcoholic beverages.

Industrial experts attributed the increased consumption of wine to falling prices.

The advent of wines such as the 1.99 dollar Charles Shaw label and the ubiquitous 6.99 dollar Yellowtail brand from Australia has contributed to lower wine prices and is reorienting the industry's marketing efforts, the paper said.

Though US consumption is at an all-time high, just 12.5 percent of adults drink 86 percent of the wine purchased in America, the paper quoted figures from the Wine Market Council, a trade group.

Despite the increase in consumption, the Americans are not the biggest wine drinkers in the world. The French and Italians drink much more than the Americans do. By comparison, Italians drink about 70 bottles annually on average and the British tipple about 23.

V-Net Beverages Issues ''Truth in Ginseng'' Challenge to Beverage Industry
Wednesday January 19, 1:57 pm ET

BLUE ISLAND, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2005--V-Net Beverage, Inc. (Other OTC:VNTB.PK - News) is launching a nationwide "Truth in Ginseng" campaign. The purpose is threefold: to urge industry-wide full-disclosure in ginseng labeling, to support stringent testing and authentication of ginseng products, and to educate consumers about beverages proclaiming "ginseng" on the bottle or can.
As Robert Corr, president of V-Net put it, "It's been 27 years since I created the first ginseng soft-drink of modern times and rekindled nationwide interest in this extraordinary herb. Nowadays, store shelves are laden with drinks, such as Coca-Cola's Full Throttle(TM), PepsiCo's SoBe(TM) line, Anheuser Busch's B-E(TM) and others that denote "ginseng" on their labels. The questions remain: how much and what type of ginseng root do these beverages contain, of what potency and where grown? After two decades of playing games, it's time for the beverage industry to be upfront with consumers about ginseng. V-Net has shown the way."

Corr noted the federal Farm Bill 2002 corrects the confusion arising from application of the term "ginseng" to Eleutherococcus senticosus (so-called Siberian ginseng, "Eleuthero"). The new law establishes that "ginseng" shall apply only to plants of the genus Panax. There are eight Panax species, but only two, Panax ginseng (Chinese ginseng) and Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng) are used commercially. Eleutherococcus sells for under $2.00/lb whereas American ginseng root trades for $25.00/lb.

"At V-Net, we use quality Wisconsin-grown American Ginseng root (Panax quinquefolius) exclusively in our beverages," said Bob Corr. "We shun foreign-grown ginseng because only Wisconsin has strict laws regulating growing and processing of ginseng. Strict oversight guarantees Wisconsin ginseng does not have harmful pesticide residues. In December, the FDA seized Asian-grown ginseng tainted by a cancer-causing fungicide (quintozene), banned for crops in the United States but used elsewhere. Not only is Asian-grown ginseng suspect. Quintozene is legal in Canada, a major ginseng exporter." (http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/ANSWERS/2004/ANS01334.html)

V-Net currently markets three ginseng beverages: Ginseng Rush(TM), Ginseng Rush XXX(TM) and Rush Herbal Cola(TM). Each 12 oz. bottle of Ginseng Rush contains 5 ml. American Ginseng extract. V-Net's extract is made by blending one full pound of American Ginseng dry root into one gallon of a water/alcohol mixture. Ginseng Rush XXX and Rush Herbal Cola contain 15 ml. and 3.8 ml. of this ginseng extract, respectively.

"The consumer has no idea of the quality or quantity of ginseng used in beverages of our major competitors," said Corr. "Hypothetically, they could take one drop of our ginseng extract and add it to a bathtub full of water. They could then take one drop from that bathtub, add it to their beverage, and write "ginseng" on the container in bold letters. To make matters worse, they could be using foreign-grown ginseng. Naturally, we have full faith they are following the law and using real ginseng and not "Eleuthero". With Ginseng Rush and Ginseng Rush XXX, our label tells how much ginseng is in the bottle and where it's from. We're proud of that."

V-Net to test rival beverages for ginseng

1/24/2005 - V-Net Beverage has condemned the drinks industry’s lack of transparency about its use of ginseng and is launching a ‘Truth in Ginseng’ campaign which it hopes will force manufacturers to reveal full information about herbal content on the label, reports Jess Halliday.

The company plans to submit a number of rival beverages purporting to contain ginseng - such as Coca-Cola's Full Throttle and PepsiCo's SoBe – to the High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) test to determine the quantity, potency, species and origin of the ginseng used.
