Lifeline is focused on developing and marketing systems designed to assist in the early detection of breast and ovarian cancer. The first of these products is known as the First Warning Early Detection System (FWS). Over 700 study patients have been involved in testing this unique technology to assist in the early detection of breast cancer. Most recently over 300 women were tested in Argentina. The FWS identified all of the 105 patients that were shown to have cancer upon breast biopsy. At the same time, the level of false positives was higher than acceptable. Consequently, Lifeline is updating its interpretive system’s detection capacity with the expectation of bringing these into acceptable norms.To complement the FWS, Lifeline has developed a microendoscope, Nipple Endoscope™, to be used to examine the ductal systems of the breast. Once FWS has detected an abnormality in the breast, the physician can inspect the ducts to determine the nature of the abnormality.
Another product in the development stage is a mircroendoscope,
Ova-scope™, to be utilized by physicians to examine the ovaries. The objective of this device is for the early detection of ovarian cancer.
Looking forward
The FWS is expected to enter final phase of clinical trials following the updating of its interpretive system to acceptable norms. Upon completion of the clinical trials, summarized test patient data will be submitted to the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) seeking marketing clearance. Upon clearance a national sales program will be undertaken.
Lifeline’s Nipple Endoscope™ is currently being tested for prospective and effective utilization in intraoperative ductal endoscopy (IDE) by physicians. Upon satisfactory confirmation that the product is an aid in the early detection and localization of intraductal breast cancer, steps will be undertaken to market this product.
The Ova-scope™ is currently undergoing physician testing. Once the testing physicians are confident that this system is capable of assisting in the detection of ovarian cancer, a program will be undertaken to market this revolutionary product.
