GBMI - I just had one of my best trading days in over a year and bought it when it was still over a penny because I thought it was good for a quick in/out play. I also did not check it out thoroughly. It cost me a hard lesson. In one day it wiped out all my previous profits and then some.

Everyone really should avoid stocks that end in a Q with passion. Stocks given a "q" at the end example (EXDTQ) are in some form of bankruptcy or some form of reorganization. And 99.9999% of the time the stock will become worthless at the end of the reorganization.

I have been burned on the BIG BOARDS as well as the pennies--the pennies have been an INCREDIBLE education for me--they are much more transparent to me because they are suspect to begin with--i have developed a much more critical eye here---i think that there are fewer(%age wise) scams in the bigs--- but they are MUCH more sophisticated--the oppurtunities for PROFITS are much higher in the pennies---so refine your techniques DAILY and SHARE your suspicions --we can try to answer the issues together much more effectively----

Good post, glassman! I concur wholeheartedly. My "education" came from the BIG BOARDS starting in March 2000. What a great time to start dumping money into the markets. I remember reading an article in a popular financial magazine about several companies that were going to change the world. Metromedia Fiber Networks (MFNX)was one of them. I took the bait and rode a nice chunk of shares right into bankruptcy.

The Soc Sec issue is very clear--If you were born AFTER 1958--there isn't likely to be ANY for you---it is because the average pesron who contributes to SS receives ALL of the money back with INTEREST(LOW) in three to five years---My figures are now a few years old---it may be different now but not a lot----SS was designed on the top of a pyramid---look at th back of your dollar bill---the base of the pyramid is no longer growing---I was born in the last year of the baby boom 1960-(some say 1963 was the last year)--1963 was the last year before the PILL became available legally---- this situation was predicted BEFORE the pill was ever released---the powers that be have been asleep at the wheel---I am not making any type of statemnets against the PILL---i am just trying to figure out how to invest -----I have worked hard all of my life and expect to till i am ready to move on -----if/when i hit it big--i will be starting a school for glassart and possibly blacksmithing and ceramics that is not JUST for RICH KIDS--LOL----
