Company Says State-of-The-Art Equipment Very Efficient & Cost Effective; Will Also Provide Additional Revenue Source
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Feb 18, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Americana Publishing, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: APBH) said today it anticipates saving about 50 percent in production costs using its in-house CD and tape duplication equipment compared to outsourcing.
"The new equipment we recently installed is very efficient and cost effective," said George Lovato, Jr., chairman and CEO of Americana Publishing, Inc. "We anticipate the savings will have a positive impact on our profitability."
A 50 percent cut in costs translates to about $200,000 in net savings, according to Lovato.
One of the big factors Americana considered when installing state-of-the- art audio CD and tape duplication equipment is greater control of its audio book production.
"With control over our own equipment, we can quickly adjust our inventory needs as required by demand," said Lovato. "We don't have to worry about minimum requirements or rapidly responding to orders of any quantity."
Due to the high capacity of Americana's duplication equipment, the Company is in a position to offer its services to other firms around the world, according to Lovato.
"Our duplication equipment is now another potential source of income for the Company," said Lovato.
Lovato also indicated that because of the capacity of the new duplication equipment Americana will be in a position to take on contract work creating a new revenue source for the Company.
According to the Audio Publishers Association, annual sales of audio books total nearly $2 billion, with approximately 42 million Americans listening to audio books.
