I'm trying to get into a couple of different stocks and get this message (on Ameritrade) "Your order was not accepted. Funds are not available for this transaction of a non-marginable security." - any advice on how to correct this? I already have a margin account but should have plenty of cash on hand. Thanks! Steve

Guys, are you new users of Ameritrade? If so, thats your problem! Although your money is in the account, you can only use it on marginable securities, which means NO OTC, PINK SHEETS, etc I believe 10-15 business days. im not sure of the exact number, but it is somewhere in that range!

You may have unsettled cash from previous sell and you are buying otc pinks that are not marginable. Is this right?

I'm not sure. Looked into it a little and I think I have to have 2k minimum in there (which I now have). We'll see tomorrow what happens...

If you deposited money into your account via ACH transfer, you cannot buy non-marginable securities for 5 or 10 days, depending on how new you are to ameritrade. ALWAYS deposit money via wire transfer if you want it to be available immediately.
