Yes, rather amusing method.A reader should realize trades of zero
shares can only be reported by legit
brokerage firms. My use of "legit"
is, of course, sarcastic.
Private investors cannot report trades,
only brokerage firms can do this.
These are brokerage firms recognized
and sanctioned by the SEC. I have never
found a prosecution, not a single one,
for this activity, which is legal per
the SEC.
If you truly want to watch this happen,
your chances are better to watch closing
trades within one to two minutes after
the closing bell rings. You will see
this happen for lots of stocks. Some
say this is legit. I say this is certain
manipulation of opening prices for the
next trading day.
Ever see those very tall vertical sell
lines on charts, showing zero volume
and stretching from zero dollars to
over last ask price? Give this thought.
"Zero shares being traded and reported.
Doesn't strike me as an activity which
should be unlawful," she says in a voice
full of drooling sarcasm.
