Good day ...Once, one of my colleages told me that there was a certain amount of stocks a person should own, but he wasn't sure if it was 13 or 17 stocks....he said there was some kind of mathematical equation that they used to come up with the figure of 13 or 17.....has anyone ever heard of this or is he just scr*wing with my head....i presently own 20 stocks, so I'm thinking of dumping a few if he is right....plz help

Personally, I find it hard to keep track of more than 5 or 6 at a time especially if you are swing trading any of them. Unless you have a large amount of capital invested in each of those companies I would suggest consolidating and doing some solid dd on just a couple and investing a larger chunks into those few. Not only will your return be BIGGER but your chance of getting return better since you know the company is more solid and can more easily keep yourself informationally invested in those 5 or 6 companies.
