A recent article on Broadband Wireless Business Online (http://www.shorecliffcommunications.com/magazine/index.asp) quoted an industry report as saying, 'The report predicts that the fixed broadband wireless market will grow from $558.7 million in 2003 to more than $1.2 billion by the end of 2007.''The need for and interest in FWB is already there, with the existence of areas that have yet to be reached by common wireline broadband technologies and those that lack basic copper infrastructure,'said Daryl Schoolar, a senior analyst with a high-tech market research firm.
SkyBridge Wireless Inc. (OTCBB: SBWL) has positioned itself to be able to be a wireless front runner in this market, starting first here in the Las Vegas market. SkyBridge Wireless Inc. currently operates four major wireless broadcast sites using FCC licensed high-speed microwave radios to connect these sites together to form one of the largest and efficient fixed wireless broadband networks in southern Nevada. 'Building and owning our own high-speed fixed wireless network gives us the ability to provide broadband services to areas with little or no other solutions for Internet connectivity,'stated Jason Neiberger, SkyBridge Wireless Inc. president and director of technology.
According to James Wheeler, SkyBridge Wireless Inc. CEO, 'We have started discussions for short-term needs, but also to access larger funding which may be available from sources in Asia who have an interest in U.S. markets, Las Vegas and wireless. We have plans to build a much larger multi-city/state network.'
