iBIZ's Virtual Laser Keyboard Is Now Available from the Web

via COMTEX

Jan 14, 2004 12:56:00 PM

PHOENIX, Jan 14, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via Comtex/ --

iBIZ Technology Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: IBZT), a leading manufacturer and distributor of accessories for personal digital assistants (PDA) and hand-held devices, today announced that the Virtual Laser Keyboard is now available for pre-order from their site at http://store.yahoo.com/ibizpda/ .

Ken Schilling, President and Chief Executive Officer of iBIZ Technology Corp stated, 'Yesterday afternoon we began taking pre-orders from our web site for our Virtual Keyboard. Even without an announcement that the product was available for pre-order, the first hour sales were impressive and appear to be a solid barometer of this product's ongoing success. More importantly, the anticipation by consumers for this product has been overwhelming. We are excited to be making delivery on the first units in approximately thirty days and look forward to placing this evolutionary product on retailers'shelves.'

For $99.99, users will receive a cutting edge device, which has recently received the media attention of CNBC, CNN, TechTV, and additional top tier media outlets.

iBIZ's Virtual Laser Keyboard provides a full-size QWERTY keyboard, smaller and more convenient to use than the folding-type keyboards, and similar to them in functionality. It is the perfect portable input device for PDA's, or can be used as an everyday keyboard for notebook or desktop PC's. It is similar in responsiveness to regular keyboards, but extremely futuristic looking, with its projected laser image.

The Virtual Laser Keyboard requires no special training. The keyboard employs a USB/serial cable connection to communicate with the PDA or PC. Future models will incorporate Bluetooth and/or IR Wireless Connections to a variety of devices. The lightweight device weighs two ounces and is similar in size to a disposable cigarette lighter. The Virtual Laser Keyboard includes a self-contained, rechargeable lithium ion battery. It provides the Virtual Laser Keyboard with its own internal power supply, so it doesn't drain any battery power from the PDA or PC. The battery lasts three to four hours, more than enough time to do some instant messaging and SMS messaging from the handheld device or to update calendar and phone book entries. The device can also be plugged directly into an A/C outlet for continuous typing requirements.

The Virtual Laser Keyboard is ideal for well-lit offices. It's also an excellent choice for any workplace that has clean rooms and medical facilities, and any industry that requires a dirt-free environment. In the education industry keyboards are the highest single point of failure due to the constant abuse they receive on a daily basis. The classroom keyboard also harbors an incredible amount of debris and germs. Our Virtual Keyboard will eliminate not only the cost of maintaining mechanical keyboards in volatile locations, but will help to maintain a healthy environment as well.

The Virtual Laser Keyboard is compatible with Palm, Pocket PCs, laptops and desktop PCs. An upcoming version for cell phones will be available in 4th quarter 2004. The Virtual Laser Keyboard will be available this quarter for $99.99 from major retailers and other e-commerce sites.

iBIZ Technology CEO Is Covered on CEOCast
Wednesday January 14, 2:00 pm ET

PHOENIX, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iBIZ Technology Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: IBZT - News), a leading manufacturer and distributor of accessories for personal digital assistants (PDA) and hand-held devices, was covered on Tuesday, January 13th, 2004 on CEOCast.com. The online interview can be viewed at www.ceocast.com .

Michael Lax of CEOCast interviewed Ken Schilling, President and Chief Executive Officer of iBIZ Technology Corp. Both discussed how Schilling founded iBIZ in 1979, evolving from distributing bank automation systems to becoming a leading manufacturer and distributor of accessories for personal digital assistant (PDA) and other handheld computing devices. The iBIZ name has become a recognized brand through innovation, high quality, competitive pricing and superior service.

The focus of the interview was iBIZ's latest creation, the Virtual Laser Keyboard. Schilling explained the benefits & target markets of this new product, along with the production and distribution of this unit.

The iBIZ Virtual Laser Keyboard attaches to PDAs and projects the image of a full-size keyboard onto the surface of the desk where the PDA is placed, making it easy to input text without a physical keyboard. In addition to its mass market appeal, the Virtual Laser Keyboard is also targeting the educational, medical, kiosk and ATM markets.

Initially, production of Virtual Laser Keyboard will take place in Israel. The factory location there is designed for high-demand, mass production with a very short lead time.

Today iBIZ begins shipping the Virtual Laser Keyboard directly from their website at www.ibizpda.com . The unit will also hit retail & etailers this quarter.

The Virtual Laser Keyboard is compatible with Palm, Pocket PCs, laptops and desktop PCs and retails for $99. An upcoming version for cell phones will be available in 4th quarter 2004.

i like the fact that they are getting the press and attention. until the numbers start coming out this will be a good (and necessary) to keep investors interested.

there was a bit of good solid info regarding the production of the VKB in israel. the production capability is already in place and was touted to be fast. this is all positive. i wonder how their licensing agreement is set up. does anyone know how exclusive it is and for how long?

I've wondered the same thing - if VKB had already made the product, why did they outsource it to iBiz?

I'm assuming they've given iBiz a licensing agreement allowing them to be the only company to sell the technology for a couple of years.

That .17 high is bogus. It had a one second spike. The real high it .08.
