VNGNTN1 thinks the stocks may drop much lower on this news.so he increases the trailing stop to 10% higher so that he does not hold the positions in the event that the stock drops much lower than he thought before.

Of the 50 or so stocks positions I hold about half have gained enough to be in a "profit" (according to may system), However a trailing stop to be effective must follow the current price at a sufficient distance so it doesn't take you out early. My system takes me out if stock retraces past about 16% News of terror attacks cause people to panic and sell so I try to recover 10% of the 16%. If I calculate this correctly and have $1000 in profit I should realize an additional $160 from what I was will to accept on a standard market condition. SUMMARY "PR" or "NEWS" often drives a stocks beta past normal limits.
