Tokyo stocks surge on last trading day of 2003 By Allen Wan TOKYO (CBS.MW) -- Tokyo stocks jumped on the last trading day of the year Tuesday, spurred on by the Nasdaq's surge past the 2,000 level for the first time in almost 2 years. The Nikkei Average gained 136 points, or 1.3 percent, to 10,637.53, while the broader Topix climbed 12 points to 1,039. The stock market will be open for a half day of trade. In the technology sector, Canon (CAJ) rose 2.7 percent to 4,970 yen and Sony (SNE) gained 1.1 percent to 3,700 yen. Banks surged for a second straight day, helped by recent comments from the country's top financial regulator that the bad-loan situation had improved. Mizuho Financial (MZHOF) rose 2.9 percent to 323,000 yen and UFJ Holdings (UFJHF) climbed 2.9 percent to 505,000 yen. The dollar, meanwhile, traded steady at 107.08 yen in early Tokyo, compared with the late Monday New York level of 107.05. Automaker Toyota (TM) rebounded 1.7 percent to 3,640 yen.

ththf, THTHF may have bottomed, but be careful, it is an over-dilluted POS. That is not to say that it cant show some movement, but dont expect too big of a move from this one. PACC always looks as though it has bottomed, then plunges further, not much of a co., but then again not many sub-pennies are.DD means nothing on stocks like these, they move on emotion. Enter if you like, but use caution.

I totally empathize with the pain of bailing on a stock because somebody spooked you, then the thing does a 3x the next day. If you like risk, THTHF is the place to be. My only comment would be that I think the pop already happened. Maybe it will pop again, but it seems to be losing traction at the moment. Good luck w/your $$
