Question for everyone more experience out there...Where do you find the really cheap stocks, the ones that trade in the .00X ranges?
Is there a website with a comprehensive list of the lowest priced stocks? The things would need their DD of course, but it would be nice to know where I can find the cheap ones early on!

Define "CHEAP" again If you buy 5m shares @.001=$5000+commision IN & OUT say $23 and stock drops to .0005 you just lost $2523.This is a likely senario because company has not done the things required to be a strong company. Likewise if you buy 200 shares @ $25 : 1-Company will probably be providing good statistics for an informed decision. 2-Institutional intrest will be there 3-More likely to be earning intrest. Thus not as likely to drop 50%.

Zo, question about the price screener. I entered the condition of price being less than .009, but it says there are zero results. Now I know this isnt true(ex. CMKM), so I'm wondering if I need to specify additional criteria. I thought it could deal with the exchange, but there isnt anything for OTC stocks.
Is there certain criteria I should be using to find the low priced penny stocks?

GreenKnight37: I use Yahoo as well but what I do is put in for price range any - 1.00, and P/E of any - 5. I then sort the results by price or by P/E. That is the easy part the DD afterwards is the time consuming portion. Also I was turned on to a site from another poster call OTCcharts.com. It will run you approx. 100.00 a month with a $9.95 first month charge. You can cancel at any time. I tried it out today, you can setup filters, and the streamers did find RNKE today but I was too slow to react but there are others to find. I really like that site. Of course you still need to look at the charts but it is a great site for the investor.

Yeah, I was actually looking over at the OTCcharts website yesterday, and it looks like a good site. Problem is that I cant afford that right now. I'm still trying to save up enough money to meet the minimums for most online brokerages! Ahh the life of a poor college student...lol
But if you happen to know of any free sites, please send 'em along!
Yeah, I've looked into Lowtrades. I've actually printed out the paperwork and was about mail it with a check...but then I had to pay off $1400 for my computer. So suffice to say, I've got about 100 bucks to my name at the moment...lol.
I'm probably going the Lowtrades route once I hit an even $500 to deposit. I hate that you actually have to mail the checks though, I wish I could electronically transfer it from my checking account.
Oh well...I'll just go with Lowtrades first, then make tons of money and switch to Freetrades anyways. They've got two free wires each month, and of course free trading Stupid $5000 dollar minimum though...why cant it be a more attainable $1000.
Yeah I know what ya mean man, it's tough for us lowballers to first start out. I'm confident with the smart minds here, and by getting better at my own DD and stock picking that I can make some AWESOME money.
Since we're both on the same playing field we should keep close tabs. My e-mail address you can reach me at is rjking@bsu.edu.
Oh btw, I got in contact with LowTrades about the check thing. I e-mailed them wondering what I can do to speed up the process, cause I heard it takes like 3-5 days AFTER they recieve your account for the check to clear. They replied and said that once they recieve my paperwork and process it, they will open an account for me. They also went on to say that once they do that, if I chose too, I could have them send my check back to me... and wire some money into my account. That would save me a few days and think I'm going to do it that way.
One question though, do you have any idea of what wire transfers cost from a regular bank?

This is more of an information site than anything else but it is fantastic. OTCcharts.com! First month sign up is very cheap! Check my posts and you will be able to see that not much gets by me. Take a look at it. Even full price for the second month is equivalent to gas money to work ($3.00 a day average).
With Lowtrades you also can do a wire transfer from your account to theirs. They have a link that gives the wiring instructions. The wire posts to your account that day. This is the method of funding I choose since it takes them several days to clear a check. Thats valuable lost time...

Yeah, the OTCcharts website looks really good, but I'm not to fond of that $100 per month charge. If I have any success with penny stocks though, its something to consider.
Any free places that have a lot of information? Where do you all go to research companies and do your DD? I'm still shy on sources for doing that.

dardadog, I am still trying to setup the filters in OTCCharts. Could you send me how some of your filters are configured? My e-mail address is kwaddell@cofs.net

No problem Karwad. Do you have an MSN hotmail account where we can talk back and forth? If not, I'll send a few examples of the parameters I use regularly. You can set them up and tweek the price-volumes-ranges-trades to any degree you want to establish. Do you have excel?
