OK- I look for big spreads on bid ask because that usually means there is good action on a stock. I would like to get comments on different ways this plays out. for instance, (B= bid A= ask U=undecided) When I see alot of U's comming thru is this the MM's putting buyers and sellers together on limits or is it the MM's cutting deals.i.e. accumulating to resell on the ask and getting an extra .00?$ on each share.

GLASS I have some intrest in this also. I have always assumed that since the spread is a MM's income , when they see a trend where low volume or activity beyond thier control, set B/A at vlaues which discourge trading until circumstances improve. Can't wait for someone to post on this who can help us with concept.

It seems the three of us and a few others from time to time post together. Obviously we are trying to improve our lot in investing I don't know what you guys do, but if your like me I schedule time in the market, when its important to cover my investments. It seems that research & learning takes second place.Having a place like this can really be an educational format. I am looking for positive input and really don't like posts where people are spitting at each other, what good does it do and they don't really know each other. The good post come from good people with ideas THATS WHAT I WANT.

Hey folks, Have a question concerning pre-market bid/ask. I have been tracking RBAKQ and in pre-market this morning the bid is higher than the ask. .35x.32. What would cause this? I haven't seen any news. Looking for an expert opinion as I am still learning. -Chuck

[In pre-openning they don't usually change the ask--the higher bid reflects that someone has placed an order to buy at that price-- or they have buyers and the MM's will pay that price. There is also trading after hours that could have ended with a higher price that makes the bid higher but the ask is still on from the previous close. Usually this means a good morning--goodluck--
