I meant to post this in this group, not in the over .10 group, sorry for making you look twice)
To all self-proclaimed pros (and legitimate ones too):
How many of you guys actually make money? How much? I want to hear examples of big money makers, not interest increases. I can look back on stocks but how many of you guys have made $10,000 on a micro-cap. Has anyone lost their ass? I bought 1.91 million shares of ththf just screwing around. I bought 1 mil @ .002 and another 910,000 @ .0022. I don't like to buy and sell a lot. I figure that if I hold on for a few years, it will eventually go up to a nickel or so. That would be a great pay day - but what is the liklihood of that. How many people here have bought a stock that has gone from .002 to 1.00? Are my odds here better that playing the lotto?
By the way, I am traditional, won't tell anybody I even thought about penny stocks. They've always been known as baaaad! But look at the returns! I love to gamble! Look at the returns! So do you think I'll be laughing all the way to the bank or wishing I had chosen betonsports.com to gamble it all away.
C'mon, who made a million at this game? ... (Literally, I want to know. . . greater risks yield to greater rewards, that's what entreprenuership's about, right?)
Oh yeah, how many honestly believe in the stocks you purchase? How many know what the company they buy into even does? Reading charts is great, but how about the management? Can micro-caps be long term too? ... and finally, how many of you guys have owned a stock for more that 1 year?
If you only answer one question, just tell me your total track record (not percentages). Mines in up from 12,000 to 23,000 this year thanks LU, NVDA (nVidia), and my wisest choice MOTorola. I would hold onto MOT for years If I could. Years ago I did buy a 21 cent stock that I lost everything on - thought it served me a lesson, guess not.
Thanks.

I just started trading pennies. So far I have made about $100.00 I know it is not much but you need to start somewhere. I started with about $600.00 to $700.00. I have a couple that could do well. I am riding free shares in LBTT and my AFRR shares are doing well. It is going to take some time but I think I will get to the Million dollar mark eventually. I have some that aren't doing well at the moment and I think the biggest is CMKM. However, I will hold it until h.e. double hockey sticks freezes over if that is what it takes. I think of myself as a buy and hold investor.

By the looks of it, only 2 people play and only one has mad any money. The rest of you must be owners trying to unload before bankruptcy? Prove me wrong! Why wouldn't you anyways . . . greed gets the best of all of us.

you are getting a little personal asking for details, but i will give you a few nebulous figures. i have made well into the 7 digits investing in stocks over 35 years. i retired from real work at 44 but consider myself a full time trader 6 months a year. the rest of the time i put my portfolio on auto pilot and enjoy life. i am on track for a 7 digit year this year, i am up approx 550% this year. i have a formula i follow for allocating funds for different catagories in my overall investment portfolio which limits stocks to 30% of the total. if you read my posts you will see i don't dabble if i like something. i have had two +6 figure weeks this year and one - 6 figure week. my microcap portfolio fluxuates in the mid 5 digit range daily most days. hopefully the trend is positive, but i am aware of, and accept the associated risks, and waves.
there are allot more here that are real players, but you are asking for specific details, and it is not a surprise you didn't get much from the heavy hitters here.
the only reason i mentioned this here is that i think there are many young investors here that need to get serious young and this might let them know there is allot of potential in self managed stock portfolios.
if you want more info you can search through my past posts. i think there are over 400 since june,

Mullet, I sure don't wanna' get too personal, but I was wondering, what was it like to invest in the market back in '68 ? I mean, I don't think Ameritrade came along until the late 70s, so you had to go with a big brokerage house ? Pardon my ignorance, but I just thought it was difficult for the little guys to even get in the market before about 20+ years ago, just curious how it was back then. Also, you're in Mexico now ? You mind saying what part ? I'm in southeast TX, and am not that far away really. 'Just wondering if you were on this side or on the CA side.

breakout, yes, before ameritrade you had to use a broker, but it wasn't hard to invest. all you had to do was pay a big commission compared to today. my dad invested in stocks. that was during the days when you always got the certificates. but individuals investing in stocks goes back a long way. remember the '29 crash; stories of people jumping out of windows?
i live on the bay of banderas just north of puerto vallarta.
mw, since this is a micro penny forum i will limit this to them. i limit my high risk micro cap portfolio to 3-5% of the total, but it is currently much higher. it has been a good year. by the end of the year i will move to more conservative plays and enjoy the high season here. i usually limit my trading to from may- nov 1st. i am doing this because i enjoy it and it helps make the hot monsoon season go by quickly.
hope this helps. end of interview.

OM shouldn't you be sitting on a beach earning 6% a mounth if I was your age I know I would be. Maybe you like the aggravation of trading remember you can't take it with you richer men than you have tried and failed.
p.s. how do you like that mexican television a little violent don't you think???
i'm 57, and live and play my dream. i normally would be more kicked back by this time of the year, but i am trying to set a personal record for 2003.
i play in 3 different bands (4th one in the works) and am involved in several non profit efforts. i am director of a mexican corporation i formed 3 years ago. my life is really a blast!! i will have our gardner get my fishing boat ready this week and soon i will only post once in awhile until next may. i do this penny stuff, because it is really fun and allows ms mullet and i to be both generous to others less fortunate and do the crazy things we dreamed about all of our life. i could get up and walk away from the computer without delling anything and it would make very little difference, because of the way invest. high risk is treated as if i could lose it all.
besides, youth is prolonged by keeping the mind active. i would go crazy sitting on the beach contemplating the condensation on my margarita glass.
i never watch tv. we have a few but i would rather watch a dvd or read a book or write a song or pick a few tunes with friends etc. there is direct tv here and sky, but we had them taken out. they are a waste of time.

OM i'm 29 years old and live in a dream also infact you could make a movie about my life and alot of peouple would watch i could tell you how i got here but the story is so unbelievable i would rather not say. i am also the ceo of my own company greenwood trading ltd. but it's a small company i just started i'm basicly just a i/b. my life in one word would be unbelievable, when i'm not trading i'm watching dvd's or direct t.v. and i read books all the time. my dream is to sit on my private beach and plan my next move. it's good that your not here in the bermuda triangle so i don't have to worry about you when your out on your boat.
i have been through the bermuda triangle and the sargasso sea a few times. we might have covered the same lat lon as you have. i used to live on a sailboat(s). i then started building a small cat ketch have my second one (30' grp sloop) under construction.
the ocean is my church. i never feel closer to whatever powers there are out there that make this life mystery work than i do on the ocean. this part of the pacific is fabulous. i love my life here.
are you in the bahamas or bvi? not prying just interested.

Mullet, you keep up the great work !!!!!!!!!! And never lose that great attitude you have ! My grandmother is 85 and is probably more active than most people in their 40s-50s. I like the fact that you're a generous person too; that seems to be a common trait of many people of your caliber. Wishing you the best !

Your story is very inspiring. Gives me hope. I am about to be 40 and the traditional 9-5 is just not doing it. Of course I have may retirment fund and an outside account for the blue chips, but I realized recently that there is some potential in these pennny stocks. If you can hit a couple at the right time you can make some good money. I believe you can vouch for that. Anyway I been in the investment banking industy for about 15 years now and I figured I have enough knowledge to make some fairly good picks. I want you to know being new at this I get a lot out of reading your post, so dont go away too long (i.e. May). Thats great that you give back to the less fortunate, thats why you have been blessed to make money. Just fyi, my 1st 2 pennies are THTHF and LBTT.

thanks for all of the kind words amigos. the key i think is to start as young as you can, and make sure you invest as much as you can early on. i never owned a new car until i bought my first mercedes. it was a diesel, and actually turned out to be a great investment in itself. i paid cash, drove it for 8 years and never bought more than tires and 2 batteries. i sold it for 80% of its pp. i made far more than the 20% taking the mileage deduction for business travel. i have driven mercedes diesels ever since. my business bought a couple of new trucks over the years, but that was for tax reasons back in the investment credit days. i learned that quality (not to be confused with expensive status symbols) really paid off. i spent lots of money in my wilder days on fast cars and motorcycles. i think the year of that benz was a turning point in my life. i started to think more about how the money i sweated for could do a little sweating for me. it has been a steady uphill graph ever since.
re the bush job question, i worked on the north slope, on a seismic crew looking for oil, on a seismic ship, also prospecting for oil, and for an oil company prospecting for platinum family metals and gold, and that also owned a barite mine. i was their chief chemist. i also worked as a chemist for a geologist to open the first commercial assay lab in anchorage. the beauty of the bush jobs is that they included room and board, and if you stayed out of the poker games, you had lots of uncashed checks when you finally went to town. that was the beginning of buying something with the idea of increased value down the line. working in the bush also kept me out of the bars, which is a major alaskan passtime.
marbles, i think you meant that as a joke. there are hundreds of thousands of truely needy people we help in mexico. 10k buys allot of medecine and treatment. you seem to portray yourself as a savy trader. you just made 1k in 1 day according to a recent post. do it 9 more times. good luck yo you.
