HI,
I'M A NEW MEMBER HERE, BUT HAVE BEEN READING THE POSTS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I HAVE NOTICED ALL LEVELS OF THE FOOD CHAIN HERE FROM BAIT TO PREDATORS. I AM JUST A MULLET BECAUSE I AM A SMALL INVESTOR HOPING TO MAKE A LIVING AND A FUTURE FROM WHAT FALLS TO THE BOTTOM WHERE I FEED. LIKE MANY OF YOU, I HOPE THERE IS ENOUGH IN THE MUD WE EAT TO KEEP US ALIVE, AND IF WE'RE LUCKY WE WILL DIE FAT OLD MULLET, ESCAPING THE NETS AND PREDATORS. NOT MANY OF US MULLET MAKE IT TO A VERY OLD AGE, BECAUSE WE ALWAYS ARE LOOKING DOWN WHEN WE EAT AND WE ARE EASILY CAUGHT OR EATEN BY BIGGER FISH AND NETS THROWN ONTO US.

WE ALSO LIKE TO SWIM AND JUMP WITH THE OTHER MULLET, ATTRACTING PREDATORS AND NETTERS. IF ONE STARTS EATING MUD WE ALL JOIN IN, AND THE WATER BECOMES SO CLOUDY WE OFTEN DON'T SEE WHAT IS COMING. WE ALSO TEND TO BE VERY HABITUAL AND PREDICTABLE, RETURNING TO THE SAME MUD IN SHALLOW WATER HOPING THIS TIME IT WILL ALL GO WELL. THE PREDATORS AND NETTERS SMILE AT THEIR EASY GOOD FORTUNE.

WHEN I WAS VERY YOUNG, I TASTED A VARIETY OF MUDS, AND SOON SELDOM WANTED TO SWIM WITH THE SCHOOL, AS THEY ATE THE SAME MUD IN THE SAME PLACE EVERY DAY. EVERY DAY A FEW DIDN'T COME HOME. I DUG AND ATE AND STARTED FINDING THINGS IN THE MUD THAT GAVE ME CLUES ABOUT THE PREDATORS AND NETTERS. I LEARNED BY CAREFULLY WATCHING AS I ATE THE MUD I COULD ESCAPE THE PREDATORS. I LEARNED BY LOOKING FOR REMNANTS AND SIGNS OF NETTERS I COULD EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE WITHOUT FEAR OF THEM. BY MYSELF I BECAME OLD AND I MUST ADMIT, KIND OF FAT. I HAVE HAD LOTS OF CHILDREN AND TAUGHT THEM HOW TO FIND PLACES TO EAT MUD IN SAFETY, AND HOW TO READ THE MUD FOR CLUES OF DANGER. I AM A RARE MULLET THAT HAS LIVED TO SWIM WITH HIS GRAND CHILDREN AND HAVE SHOWN THEM WHERE TO FIND THE BEST AND SAFEST MUD. THEY ARE ALSO GETTING PUDGY.

SO WHY DID A FAT OLD MULLET SWIM INTO SUCH A DANGEROUS SHALLOW PLACE, SO FULL OF NETS AND PREDATORS? IT IS BECAUSE THERE ARE POCKETS OF GOOD MUD HERE THAT ARE SAFER, AND AFTER ALL US MULLET NEED TO STICK TOGETHER, EVEN IF WE SWIM ALONE, SO OUR KIND CAN SURVIVE. AND SO I HAVE OTHER OLD FAT MULLET TO CHEW EXPENSIVE MUD WITH AND TALK ABOUT THE GOOD OLD DAYS AND THE CLOSE CALLS.

I WANT TO SWIM AROUND HERE TO SEE WHAT IS SAFE, ALONE AND UNDETECTED, BUT I AM AN OLD MULLET AND CAN USE THE HELP OF YOUNG MULLET WITH SHARP VISION AND A KEEN SENSE OF SMELL AND TASTE TO TELL ME WHEN THERE IS SOMETHING SUSPICIOUS IN THE MUD. WE MIGHT JUST FIND SOMETHING THAT COULD SAVE SOME OF US. IF WE ARE SMART ENOUGH WE EVEN MIGHT LEAD A PREDATOR INTO A NET. I NOTICED THAT SOME OF YOU ARE SMART AND SWIM AWAY AT THE FIRST SIGN OF DANGER. SOME DON'T SWIM IN UNTIL THEY FEEL IT IS SAFE. SOME HAVE EVEN CHALLENGED THE PREDATORS AND SOME HAVE SCREAMED "NET!" LETS HELP THE OTHERS SEE THE PREDATORS AND NETS. I WON'T TELL YOU WHERE TO EAT MUD, BUT WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN BETTER SEE DANGER.

I was looking at some posts back in the bear days when they only had 10 posts a day and stumbled on this. Check out the date, How many of us can go back that far?

Do you think the mullet jump to fill their pharyngo-branchial organ with air?

Hey Glass:
I think that the trapped air is believed to allow the mullet to remain active in water of low oxygen concentration for about 5-6 minutes. The number of jumps is correlated with the oxygen concentration in the water."The less oxygen concentration in the water, the more the mullet jumps"..

Mullet,
I too am old and a bit pudgy. I am new to being a mullet but with your help, maybe I can learn the finer points of mud feeding. Who knows, after a while I may find some choice morsel or two in the mud. I will share everything I find.

Around Feb, my current feeding grounds will be closed. I will either have to find a new ground or go off on my own. I am considering going off on my own. Any advice would be more than welcome.

Greg.

It always frustrated me to see those guys jumping and not biting. I never new they were air-breathers too--but it makes sense.

I have read quite a few of your post and have learned a lot from them. I would like your opinion on LBTT. I've done my DD"s and think this company could take off. What are you thoughts?

OM
great post
I suspect the "jumping mullets" are cousins of the 'lemmings.
I noticed that most of the "mini-mullets" who responded are ones who have constructed a "thinking mullet stool" along side the "mullet way" and forgot to jump back in the "mullet pack".

LBTT-- I would have been in it for awhile now-- but I don't buy pinks-- just one of my discipline things. Somebody here brought it up in early November and I liked what little DD I did --when I found it was OTO echange I didn't do more DD but I have kept an eye on it's movements. Scope surgery is one of the greatest medical advancements in the last twnty years, I know personally. I don't advise on prices I only post what I do. I would want to own this if it was OBB exch. and I would look for a bargain based on how many shares exist. Try to get some on an up-move and then sell half to hold at a discount. You can "name your own price" with this method-- Remember "free" shares become a part of your capital and aren't really free-- protect them like you paid for them working at Macdonalds.Best I can do right now.
