Hey I have a question I have been wondering for quite a while.

How in the world will a spin-out of CMI shares help Casavant focus more on their diamond exploration. Are they expecting people to sell their CMI shares so they can buy more CMKM. Just does not make any logical sense to me. Can someone please explain this to me?

Here is part of old news report, says this in second paragraph, sure you have all seen

Casavant Mining Kimberlite International X Dividend Date September 19, 2003 For Zinc Spin-Out.

September 19, 2003 11:03:27 (ET)

LAS VEGAS, Sept 19, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Casavant Mining Kimberlite International (Pink Sheets:CMKM) The Board of Directors have approved the spin-out of the corporate zinc deposits at George Lake, Saskatchewan, its wholly owned subsidiary Casavant Mining International, Inc. (CMI).

Shareholders of record who hold CMKM stock through close of market on Friday, September 19, 2003 will receive one share of CMI stock for every share of CMKM stock that they hold through this date. The payable date for the CMI shares of stock will be Friday, October 3, 2003. CMKM shareholders of record at the time will receive one share in CMI stock for every share they hold and will continue to own their CMKM stock. This spin-out will enable CMKM to concentrate on diamond exploration and development at Fort a la Corne, Saskatchewan.

Here's the lastest news on the split...

Casavant Mining Kimberlite International Clarifies Record Date for CMKM 2 for 1 Stock Split
via COMTEX

October 3, 2003

LAS VEGAS, Oct 3, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --

Urban Casavant, President of Casavant Mining Kimberlite International (Pink Sheets: CMKM) would like to clarify that the record date for the 2-1 forward stock split was September 12, 2003. This means that all shareholders who held CMKM stock through close of market Friday, September 12, 2003 receive one additional CMKM share of stock for every share held through September 12, 2003. Stock was to be paid into stockholders accounts after September 29, 2003.

Casavant Mining Kimberlite International has received several calls from shareholders that brokers are only crediting their accounts for shares of CMKM stock that they had in their accounts as of September 29, 2003. This is not correct. Thus many shareholders are deficient shares owed to them. Shares of stock for the 2 for 1 stock split should be paid for shares held through the close of business September 12, 2003.

If you have questions regarding deficient shares in your account please contact your broker to correct the situation.

CMKI is also planning to retire more shares of CMKM stock and will announce the total amount retired and the certificates next week.

This could make the total share amount less than before the foward split. Looks as if maybe they are doing this unpurpose to increase their holding in this company.

sorry for the newbie question. if they keep retiring shares, how are they increasing their holdings? aren't they in essence retiring their own shares thereby decreasing their holdings? whose shares are they retiring anyways?

Forgive me if I am wrong here, but from what I understand. A company can issue as many shares as it wants, reguardless of how many shares the people running the company have. Now shares of a stock I believe are priced based on equity and future earnings. If you have too many shares out there the equity and future growth per share will be very low. This is oftern referred to as dilution. Now if you don't have as many shares you have just the opposite. Equity per share will be higher therefore market price will most likely be higher. Now if the people running the company own many shares and believe that the future outlook of the company looks positive do you think they would want 20trillion(not actual just example) shares out there. No becuase this would make their percentage of the market equity very low. I believe they can issue and retire shares at will especially in small companys with out their amount of shares being affected. Basically if you own a large steak in a company and you think the outlook appears to be very positive you want to try and make it so you have the largest total share percentage as possible. Example If I knew I was going to make a lot of money in an investment I would most likely not want to share it with a bunch of other investors I would probably be willing to take on the investment costs my self.Investors have to be paid back if company makes money either through dividends or by reinvesting profit in to company equity. Signaling theory-comapny reduces amout of shares and decides takes on more debt means that people running comapny see good times in future and they don't want to share profit with investors. Company pumps out tons more shares means that company is not to sure about future outlook willing to use investors money instead of taking on debt and covering costs themselves.

How this relates to CMKM, I feel that is your choice to make. Some things look good, but still confused about quite a few things with this company.

Like I said before this is just from what I understand. I am sure many of you here can probably point many things out to me. I am open to any suggestions would like to be corrected if I am wrong. I am in a constant learning process. I feel we are all here because we all have a common interest and that we should help eachother out.

+300% is all I see today and it will go up from there. As for the retirment of more shares it is the best thing they could do for us, and our share value. Everything they are doing is in our best inerest at the moment. Everyone who owns this stock saw and increase in there account values today. This is a fact.

I think that they are really trying. It is definitely better than a 5000/1 negative split. I hope that this never happens.

Hey Rick,
That is exactly the way I feel. I tried to explain why it in that extreamly long write-up I did but not sure what good it does. I could not believe it when they said they were retiring more shares. It is funny how many people don't understand and think this is a bad thing. I had my doubts about this company but really beginning to believe something is going on here. Rick 300% Did you get in a .00005 somehow? you really loaded up on this one. You know, no matter what, their will always be bashers and people who like to sound like they know it all. I see this with almost every stock. people just wanting to feel important. Never really say anything that really relates to anything. Funny how they disappear after a stock takes off. Wish good luck to you and all other CMKM holders.

300%?!? Go ahead. Try to sell even a measly 1,000 of your millions (billions?) of shares for a 300% gain. It won't happen. That's what's bad about this stock. The only gains will be paper gains. The only people making sales are insiders and MM's and the only people buying are hapless investors.

WHAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN CURIOUS TO ME ABOUT CMKM IS THAT THERE ARE NEVER ANY BID OR ASK ON MY LEVEL II. ANYBODY HAVE ANY OPINION ON THAT?
ALSO A REALLY VALID POINT IS IF ANYONE HAS TRIED TO SELL THIS. I KNOW THAT ANNA, I THINK IT WAS, (HI ANNA) SAID HER BUY EXECUTED INSTANTLY, BUT SHE WAS UNABLE TO SELL. I'VE HEARD OF A BUYER'S MARKET BEFORE, BUT PERHAPS IT TAKES ON A NEW MEANING HERE.
RIC, WHY DON'T YOU TRY TO SELL A LITTLE OF THAT .00005 STOCK FOR .0001 AND .0002. YOU ONLY HAVE 1 SMALL IN 2M SHARES. YOU WOULD MAKE A SMALL PROFIT, AND UNLESS THE MMS V
WERE PRIVY AND REACTED TO THIS TEST, IT COULD AT LEAST ANSWER A QUESTION OR TWO. IT WOULD CERTAINLY GENERATE A FREE ROUND OR TWO AT YOUR LOCAL CANTINA. IMAGINE: RIC-- " YEP, I DOUBLED MY MONEY ON A MILLION SHARE TRADE TODAY, AND THEN QUADRUPLED IT ON ANOTHER MILLION SHARES LATER THAT AFTERNOON." CANTINA FALLS DEAD SILENT AND ALL OF THOSE GUYS WHO NEVER HAD MUCH TO SAY SUDDENLY HAVE THEIR ARM AROUND YOU AND WANT TO BUY YOU A BUD. TELL THEM YOU ONLY DRINK GLEN LEVITT.

I'D DO IT MYSELF BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY OF CMKM.

I'm thinking of blowing $50 on this stock just to prove that you CAN'T sell it once you're in. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it, but I'm pretty sure I'm NOT wrong.

I have been trying to sell at .0002 for the last three days. It has been going towards .0001, but today shows .0002 and it didn't sell. I have a long posittion on this sell ("until cancelled"). It may need to push more towards .0003 before it sell. Still hoping....

Put a little for sale at .0001 and see if it will even sell. I doubt it will.

that is very interesting seeing as Ameritrade owns APEX and APEX runs your streamer. Were they trying to get you to buy at a higher price? Bid Ask was not higher than .0001 .0002 2 days ago!!!

Rick, I'm on a ship and my internet is limited. My streamer doesn't work. I saw the bid and ask, I thought it was on my Ameritrade. I may have been mistaken. I did not buy at that price though. That is just what was listed when I looked at it. I got interested in this stock mostly because of you and I still believe in it. I wasn't trying to make it look bad since I own quite a bit of it myself. I was just stating what I saw. I don't know what MM's think.
