Some relevant comments from the moderator on the official BSEG board:
"For those that don't have experience or knowledge with Independent films having a film released theatrically is a major deal as only 1% of all Independent films get a theatrical release. Most Indies never make it to theatres and are released on DVD, Cable, Foreign, etc., which for the most part recoup their money and make a nice profit. DVD sales have become pretty amazing.
With more and more media outlets (cell phones and the new I Pod video and many more areas popping up), there is even more demand for content and therefore more revenue.
Studio and Independent films start off with Platform Releases (like Dirty Love) to test the waters. DL will be in approximately 100 theatres in it's opening weekend. Some locations it is playing in multiply theatres. This number of theatres is completely normal and could be considered high for this type of release.
Theatrical releases are important for several reasons, but some of the main ones are: more revenue from foreign sales - a film which has gone theatrical in the U.S is much more valuable, DVD and other ancillary sales are generally much better domestically as well, credibility for the company, etc. "

Anyone new to the stock, there is an Investor's Board at the company website where the management posts daily and answers questions. To recap, recent BSEG management is like night and day compared to the old BVHJ days, and is really trying to build shareholder confidence and value. Go check it out:
The stock was as low as .04 recently, but with the upcoming release of Dirty Love this coming Friday (premiere tomorrow in Hollywood) and the follow up release of the Burt Reynolds film "Forget About It" in the next month or so, the company is gaining ground.

"...DIRTY LOVE hits an all time high for disgustingly brilliant slapstick. Along similar lines to a John Waters film..."
"Jenny is like Jerry Lewis in this film, generously adlibbing and giving that extra piece of herself in order to sell each bit."
"...she finds herself in a strange situation that involves ecstasy, LSD, and a guy with a fetish for large-mouth Bass."
"Although the gross out factor in DIRTY LOVE is off the charts, the film is not singularly focused. Rebecca's overdramatic breakdown scenes of hysterical fits of crying and rage are like watching Sally Field go nuts after Shelby's death, but funny."
"Recently, DIRTY LOVE premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival where McCarthy and Asher received a standing ovation from the audience."

Reading the review at movies online and seeing the list at ifilm.com has me pretty excited.. and the review describes the film pretty much how I expect it. Just comedy, not trying to win awards. Come on DL!! And this is only the beggining... Two more films near release and more in the pipeline. American film market, November. Its all good..!!
Most Popular Movie 1. Dirty Love 2. The Thing About My Folks 3. Lord of War 4. The Exorcism of Emily Rose 5. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 6. Sex With Strangers 7. Just Like Heaven 8. Thumbsucker 9. Cry Wolf 10. Venom
DL is getting more attention than Harry Potter!

Crazy. When I left my house the stock was steady and almost no trades. When I got to work a few minutes later, the low was .08 and the price back at .10....must've been some shake!
And I was going to add at .10 if we hit it again. Too bad I was driving. I need to clear some money in case it happens again.

DEJ listed in the opening credits to Dirty love is in fact BLOCKBUSTER.
From Company board today:
"By the way, DEJ who is one of our distribution sources (also owns BLOCKBUSTER, just a little video outlet store some of you may have heard of...). I think they might be doing a good job on promoting one of thier first films with their label on it. What do you think?"

I'm still buying at these levels. I'm interested in where they go from here. They went from .04 to .195 on the buzz from Dirty Love, still in pre-release...and their stake in DL is only 25% I believe. Whatever DL does this weekend, even if it just runs one week and disappears, it is a DEJ production and as such will be pushed in Blockbuster stores as a rental. The DVD is due out before Christmas this year.
FAI is coming out in theaters on the heels of DL, and promises to be of higher caliber (produced by John D. Schofield "Jerry Maguire," "As Good As It Gets") and BSEG owns 100% of it.
They are going to the AFM in early November to build relationships with distrubutors for the foreign markets, in order to distribute their films directly and save us money. Who knows what surprises they will unveil there.
They've announced their intention to become reporting right after this first round of films, in 2006.
There is already talk on the Company message board about DIVIDENDS. Anyone interested in BSEG who hasn't signed up over there yet, should check it out. I think they are still a buy, and a hold. They're also a pleasure to talk to. Case in point, their post today:
"There was discussion previously on the Board regarding paying out dividends. Some people liked the idea, others did not. We would like to get different points of view from all of you as most of you are shareholders. Some people wanted us to invest revenue into more films and not pay out dividends.
This plan would be structured somewhat as a percentage of each film's profits that BSEG receives divided amongst the shareholders in the form of dividends.
Let us know your thoughts. We would like to hear them."

I have been a bit concerned about the slump in price and thought perhaps the company might be dumping a few shares, yet the volume hasn't been that heavy, so maybe not. I just rang the transfer agent. They told me the share count figure and it is the same as the one posted at ihub, ie 32,146,322. This at least sets my mind at ease. Pity I don't have funds to buy more at this price.

Well I have just been reading thru the comments at IMDB and the general consensus is that Dirty Love is a complete stinker. Lets hope that Forget About It isn't so bad.

Yeah I guess DL may have a short run. Although the company says the LA theaters are going to extend another week, and that any run at all makes it a more saleable pic overseas and a more lucrative DVD. The way I see it, the production line has finally started for this company, and that makes me happy.
FAI looks more promising. Wish I was still in Jersey so I could check out the screening on the 14th.

I did put in a bid for the stock, a bit on the low side, hopefully I get a fill.
Dirty Love is not the type of film I like, nevertheless, regardless of some critics reviews the important thing is to click with your targeted audience.
Movies that I found funny in my youth, I no longer feel that why about them. You change as you get older. It is a real art to get your film right for the audience you are trying to attract.
I hope BSEG and the other producers got it right with Dirty Love.

There were only 7 trades today. More buys than sells, and when there was a buy the MM's bumped the ask up sharpish. I can't say for sure, but I think the current shake may be over. Road Runner, you may have to pay the ask to get in on the stock or you may find yourself chasing it up. Don't hold me to it but I'd be surprised if you were to get in below .11 Of course I could be wrong... Good luck with your fill anyway!!!

tic-toc I raised my bid, I am trying for 10,000 shares. I already have a position in the stock and should things go right for BSEG I will do alright. The last trade was .115 up .05 with only 12,000 shares traded. I am biding .105, I might take the plunge and go for the ask, trouble is whenever I do that, the stock I went for always seems to pull back to my bid.
This is not the only stock I am interested in so I do have choices. I may just leave my bid.

I called BSEG and talked to Rozzlyn Director of Marketing and I believe publicity. Without going into details I just got a good feeling from my conversation with her. So I raised my bid to .115 and got a fill for 10,000 shares.
So all I can say now is go baby go!!!
