Phlo Corporation Hires Former Defense Department and Coalition Provisional Authority Officials

> JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 18, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Phlo Corporation (Pink Sheets:PHLC) ("Phlo") announced today that one of the companies in its corporate group has hired two former Department of Defense officials, one of whom also worked for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, to assist it in its businesses related to the U.S. Military, the Iraqi reconstruction effort, and allied military establishments. This recent development will assist in the company's market expansion efforts in connection with its oral rehydration products. These individuals bring to the company extensive experience and knowledge of the infrastructure of the U.S. Military and other allied military establishments, which knowledge is critical to the quick and effective exploitation of global markets. The company's oral rehydration solution products are currently being used by elements of the special forces of the U.S. Military, as well as the U.S. Army's Office of Civil Affairs in Iraq, the CPA (Iraqi) Ministry of Health and other Iraqi Ministries, and the military establishments in Turkey, Jordan and India, among others. The first addition to the company's personnel was recently a Deputy Director of the Office of the Secretary of Defense and served as Coalition Management Team and Operation Enduring Freedom Coalition Coordinator. Subsequently he served as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs. In the former role, he assisted in the planning and execution of military and reconstruction strategies in Iraq. He provided guidance to the Assistant Secretary and Principal Assistant Secretary of Defense on the formulation and coordination of international security strategy and policy for East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Persian Gulf, Africa and Latin America. He was instrumental in forming the Office of Coalition Management and worked directly with the Department of State, the Joint Staff, and the Unified Commands to manage foreign governments' offers of military support for the global war against terrorism in Iraq. He also served as head of congressional affairs for the Defense Department's International Security Affairs. His Defense Department duties included working with the Department of Justice, CIA, FBI and Members of Congress on terrorism and related issues. The other addition to personnel worked for both the Coalition Provisional Authority ("CPA") in Baghdad, Iraq and the U.S. Department of Defense. During his tenure with the CPA, he worked for the Office of Strategic Communications and as Chief of Staff for the Ministry of Oil. He also dealt with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Transportation, as well as the British, Dutch, and Italians with respect to the Task Force Reconstruction Iraqi Oil. At the Defense Department, he served as a Special Assistant for the Chief of Staff for Policy and Legislative Affairs, handling issues such as the 2004 House and Senate Defense appropriations bills and the congressional hearing preparation of Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary Paul Wolfowitz.
